Pakistan 30 Under 30

I was talking to a space friend the other day about how it feels to finally be grown up and working in a field we always dreamed of…

It feels like yesterday when we'd imagine ourselves as astronauts, jumping from stair to stair in the school corridors.

"Those ambitions were never for this planet."

From then to today, my work has reached over 15,000 students across Pakistan. Kids who'd never seen a telescope are now building space models and participating in national and international competitions. 

Most of them will never make it to college, but they've seen what's possible.

Today, as I work on space analogs SAFAR (South Asian Facility for Analog Research)  that will lay the foundations of our indigenous space program, I think about that journey. The odd jobs after college just to fund my education. The long nights. The uncertainty.

But I also think about that little kid whose eyes would light up seeing the night sky, wondering, "Will humans ever make it to another planet?"

He's still here. Doubting but still dreaming. Still building.
