I’m also the creator and co-host of the eCom Logistics Podcast where I’ve had the privilege of talking to some of the most smartest leaders in fulfillment and retail logistics; unpacking what’s actually working in the field and what’s just noise. Millions of impressions later, it’s become the go-to resource for logistics operators and tech leaders.

When I was a kid in primary school, we planted trees every weekend, for years. It wasn’t “volunteering.” It was normal life.

If you plant something yourself, you protect it differently.

That memory came back this week when I looked at the latest net forest gains (2015–2025). While the world debates climate targets, some countries are actually adding forest area.

1🇨🇳 China: 1,686,000 (ha), 0.8 (net change)
2🇷🇺 Russia: 942,000 (ha), 0.1% (net change)
3🇮🇳 India: 191,000 (ha), 0.3 (net change)
4🇹🇷 Türkiye: 118,000 (ha), 0.5 (net change)
5🇦🇺 Australia: 105,000 (ha), 0.1 (net change)
6🇫🇷 France: 95,900 (ha), 0.6 (net change)
7🇮🇩 Indonesia: 94,100 (ha), 0.1 (net change)
8🇿🇦 South Africa: 87,600 (ha), 0.4 (net change)

Together, the top 10 added roughly 3.5 million hectares of net forest since 2015. China alone contributed nearly 50% of that total.

When an interviewer says, “tell me about yourself.” In 19 years of executive search, I’ve seen very few answer it well. 

An interview is often decided in the first 15 minutes, and most people waste it.

In those first few minutes, you are assessed: 
- Can you think clearly under pressure?
- Can you structure your thoughts?
- Do you understand your own value?
- Do you know why you’re here?

Strong candidates don’t recite their CV. 
They position themselves, and answer 3 things. Concise. Structured. Confident.

1) Who I am professionally (my core strength).
2) What I’ve done that matters for this role.
3) Why this opportunity makes sense, for both of us.

The first 15 minutes set the frame.
After that,  I’m either confirming you’re strong… or looking for gaps.
