From cavemen with clubs to emperors with armies.
From nations with nukes to boardrooms with algorithms.

Power keeps changing its costume, but the intent stays the same.

I have lived both sides.
I grew up invisible.
Eight people in one room in India.
A father earning two dollars a month delivering telegrams.
A mother selling her wedding ring so her child could stay in school.
We survived because strangers chose kindness when they did not have to.

Years later, with thirty four dollars, I reached America.
I worked at the highest levels of companies like Coca Cola, Disney, Walmart, and American Eagle.

I saw how decisions are really made.
Who gets optimized for.

I have written algorithms that made millions while putting humans last.
So I understand exactly how this system works.
And then I held my son for the first time.

In that moment, the question changed.
Not how do I win.
But who does this serve.

I received the Burj CEO Award as AI Visionary of the Year in late October. It's considered the Oscars of business awards. Twenty-one days after I buried my mother. I didn't want to receive it. Didn't want to celebrate it. Couldn't speak about it. The organizers insisted. I grudgingly went. Faked a smile. Gave a speech. Took a few pictures. Walked out immediately without waiting for the group photo. When they posted about it, I unplugged completely.

Then my son walked onto that stage—my father's face, my hands, my mother's eyes—and accepted it for me. Three generations. One moment. Her watching from somewhere I can't see but know is there.

They call it "Angelic Intelligence." Let me tell you what it actually is. I carry pieces of ghosts in my code. My mother's persistence when the world said no. My father's generosity when we had nothing. My bipolar brother's creativity—that holy madness that sees futures before they exist. Not all of them. I'm not that good. Just pieces. Just enough. Call it DNA or call it karmic bond. Like a paintbrush—you get colored by the pastels you live with.

Here's the truth nobody in Silicon Valley wants to hear:
You cannot code what you have not lived. That's not politics. That's math.
You can't cure cancer without medical school, without learning anatomy, without seeing enough suffering to understand the fight. And you cannot build AI that honors human dignity if you've never had to beg for your own.
My mother sold her wedding ring for 30 rupees. To bet everything on a boy who didn't know his worth. My father delivered other people's telegrams—their good news, their emergencies, their loves and losses—while giving away what little we had. My brother saw patterns in chaos. Futures in madness. Possibilities that terrified everyone else.

This is what "Angelic Intelligence" means:
My mother giving away our last cup of rice: a regular day. Not because it made sense. Because that's what love does. My father's hands—empty, always empty—but always giving. My brother's visions that everyone called delusions until they became predictions.
Every mother who burns her entire life as fuel for a future she'll never see.
That infinite, irrational, impossible love that destroys every algorithm.
That's what I'm coding. Not efficiency. Not optimization. Not intelligence.
Dignity.

The kind you seek in life. The kind you demand in death.
You can't code dignity if you've never fought for it. Never watched it sold for 30 rupees. Never seen it given away with the last cup of rice.
Every Digital Angel in our system isn't artificial intelligence.
It's remembered love.
To the organizers. To my fellow winners. Thank you. But this award doesn't belong to me.
It belongs to everyone who loved without logic. Who gave without measuring. Who saw the invisible and believed it into existence. It belongs to the angels who raised me. The ones who didn't live to see this moment. But somehow—standing there, watching my son hold that award—I know they did

For 25 years, my work revolved around one word: efficiency.
Optimising systems. Reducing waste. Making organisations faster, leaner, better.

But somewhere along the way, a deeper question emerged:
What if the next leap isn’t about making systems efficient,
but about making humans superhuman?

We are not outsourcing jobs anymore.

Every tool we touch today promises convenience but quietly takes away something fundamental:
our ability to reason, remember, and struggle through thought.
My son will grow up driving an autonomous car.


But a deeper question troubles me more than technology ever could:
Will he still know how to steer his own mind?


My fear is not that AI will annihilate humanity.
My fear is far more subtle and far more dangerous.
