I just wrapped up my first 30 days at Navattic. Here’s the playbook I used to ramp fast and start shipping real impact.

1. Don’t pick projects first. Understand the needs.

I spent my first stretch digging into the product, reviewing existing systems, and talking with the team.

Goal: figure out what actually matters vs. what just sounds important.

2. Choose initial projects where impact meets expertise.

My rule for early projects: only take on work that’s high leverage and where I have the knowledge to move quickly.

Early wins = early momentum.

3. Build the system before the output.

I mapped everything in Notion - projects, workflows, experiments, dependencies.

This allowed my growth role (which typically has less clear definitions) into a role with a clear plan of attack.

4. Ship something meaningful early.

For me, that was rebuilding our content outliner:
More automated.
More consistent.
Still rooted in first-party data and a strong POV.
(Automation shouldn’t flatten quality.)

What surprised me:
You don’t need to sprint on day one.
But you do need clarity, conviction, and a system you trust.
Once those are in place, shipping becomes easy.

Month one was about building the foundation.
Month two is where the real work begins.
