But this thanksgiving week .. let’s be thankful for what we have.  

$40,000 in damage.  

But a less than a foot away .. a 20ft fall into a creek.

Insurance claims. What a pain. 

But not one was hurt. No hospital visit. 

Just a driver.. a truck and a brick wall. 

Hug your loved ones ..
Be grateful for all your blessings 

Because life can change in a millisecond

Here's a dozen tips to help you navigate investments:
 
1) Invest only with someone you know

2) Be sure to understand the organization

3) It is ok to say 'NO' when you aren't ready 

4) Identify the decision makers and track record from unbiased sources 

5) Do your homework on the market, asset and team

6) Don’t compromise on your criteria - you’ll regret it

7) Investing is like stock trading.. avoid emotions.

8) A deal is only as good as the assumptions made.

9) Location matters, you cannot move the building! 

10) Invest only in ventures where the risks are acceptable 

11) What external factors can affect the projections?

12) The plan is to not lose money. 

But every investment carries that risk
 
TLDR:
 
Invest in haste. Repent at leisure.

People love the idea of having $10K+ in monthly passive income

But always think they'll start tomorrow.

Then they wake up 1,000+ tomorrows later and realize they never did.

- Get Educated 
- Commit to a deadline 
- Find a mentor 2 steps ahead 
- Take action. You’ll be glad you did 

That’s exactly how I did it
Plenty of struggles along the way 
Roof blown. Unit flooded. Apt on fire.

But if you persist long enough 
You’ll make it to the other side

Is it going to be 1 day … or day 1?

I was part of a massive layoff. 500 people.

The irony? I was a verified top-performer.

All my accolades couldn't save me, since the entire business unit was shutting down. 

It was a top-down decision that affected every single employee.

It felt like the corporate career I was building was taken away. 

10 years down the drain. In 1 mass email.

Shouldn't this be more humanized?  

Many other "top performers" were laid off too.

So what did I do?

1. I took stock of my financial situation.
 
2. I realized several of my expenses were just to support the job. Travel. Professional attire. Professional look (hair and nails). I could easily cut down on 25%.

3. My passive investment income was plenty to support my basic living expenses. I didn't necessarily "need" a W-2 income on top of this.

4. I doubled down on investing.

To anyone affected by layoffs and massive shifts in the market, my genuine advice is to start building an income independent of your W-2.

Build it before you need it.

Is it really the next best thing?

Time + Freedom = The Real Reason

Don't buy more stuff, buy more time.

Powered by indecision.

They charge around $15 a month.

People keep subscriptions for years.

The kicker? 

Many spend more time browsing ..
than actually watching 😂

This is the magic of “choice overload.”

Why it works:

The endless library makes it feel like there’s always something worth staying for

The recommendation algorithm keeps you thinking your next favorite show is just one click away

FOMO kicks in whenever a new hit drops

Shared accounts spread the habit without extra cost to you

Canceling feels like giving up a VIP pass to the party

Netflix isn’t chasing maximum watch time per user.

They’re chasing maximum stay time.

That’s how they generate billions in recurring revenue while funding more content than anyone else.

The bigger picture?

They just need you to believe you might.

What other businesses quietly profit from you sticking around?

When I immigrated to the US, my dream was stability.

Today, it's stability + flexibility.

In 1990, when I made my way from India to the USA on a student visa, everyone kept talking about the "American Dream".  

The traditional path to financial independence with a W-2 job. 

Everyone was chasing the same goals:

1. Exciting career
2. Financial stability
3. A nice suburban home

Then, recessions happened. COVID happened. A lot has changed in 3 decades.

"Stable" is neither a goal nor a realistic possibility anymore.

In 2025, it's all about:

1. Flexible work hours
2. Financial variety (investments)
3. Flexible workplace / remote options

I wouldn't change my "now" to "then" for anything. 

The flexibility to spend time with my kiddos and my family. 

The school celebrations I can attend because my work hours allow me to pause from work.

Is this today's version of The American Dream?
