I recently completed my third year in the summer program at Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad Company, where I drove work trains, performed labor-intensive tasks, and flagged to ensure safety on the tracks.

Throughout my time in the program, I had the privilege of collaborating closely with experienced professionals, fostering teamwork and a strong sense of community. Additionally, I operated various machines, including the magnet, the plater, and the squeezer. I also handled tasks such as making corrections to fix any mistakes made by other machines and conducting daily checks to ensure they were properly greased.

In this role, I was committed to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency, contributing to the smooth operation of our rail infrastructure. My hands-on experience not only enhanced my technical skills but also deepened my appreciation for the critical role railroads play in our economy.

I am eager to leverage my growing expertise, further develop my skill set, and continue demonstrating my dedication as a top-notch worker and a reliable team player.

As a security guard for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, my role involves ensuring the safety and security of the premises and its visitors. I am responsible for monitoring and patrolling designated areas, checking credentials, and verifying access for staff and guests. If any security concerns or incidents arise, I respond promptly to address them.

In my daily duties, I conduct regular inspections of the facility, including entrances, exits, and perimeters, to identify any potential vulnerabilities or breaches in security. I maintain a vigilant presence, deterring unauthorized activities and enforcing rules and regulations to maintain order and protect the exhibits and valuable artifacts within the Hall of Fame.

Coordinating with local law enforcement agencies, assisting in emergency situations, and implementing crowd control measures during special events or high-traffic periods are all part of my responsibilities. I rely on my strong communication skills to interact with visitors, provide information, and address any inquiries or concerns they may have.

Being a security guard for the Pro Football Hall of Fame is an important role. I take pride in upholding the institution's reputation and safeguarding its treasures, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Outside the premises, I took charge of landscaping and yard work, transforming the surroundings into an inviting and well-kept oasis for patrons. My prowess extended to merchandising as well, where I consistently ensured that shelves were stocked to capacity, offering convenience to travelers at all times. Additionally, I managed the dishwashing process with unwavering precision and was instrumental in keeping the kitchen and dining areas spotless.

The responsibility of handling laundry services fell within my purview, guaranteeing a fresh and clean ambiance throughout the establishment. Not only did I maintain the physical cleanliness of the facility, but I also expertly managed the maintenance of its aesthetic appeal, as evidenced by floors so immaculately mopped that they gleamed with a luster.

In a testament to my adaptability and versatility, I occasionally manned the cash register with finesse, handling transactions and customer interactions with the utmost professionalism. My contributions at Pilot Flying J exemplified a commitment to excellence, making the establishment a shining example of cleanliness, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

During my part-time role at the railroad, I gained hands-on experience in a variety of essential tasks, ranging from driving trains to maintaining the tracks. This included operating heavy machinery, driving trains safely, driving productivity, and ensuring that the railroad system ran smoothly. I was also responsible for tasks such as hitting spikes, picking up scrap, and working diligently from sun up to sun down. This experience not only honed my technical skills but also instilled in me a strong work ethic and a commitment to meeting challenging deadlines in a dynamic work environment.

As a dynamic Pan Kid at Pizza Oven, I undertook a multifaceted role that elevated the restaurant's operational excellence. I exhibited exceptional precision in dish cleaning and preparation, ensuring the kitchen was always primed for crafting delectable pizzas. I also maintained impeccable cleanliness by meticulously sweeping floors and managing parking lot tidiness.

My commitment to going above and beyond manifested in my readiness to tackle a wide array of additional tasks at the behest of the manager or boss, showcasing my adaptability and unwavering work ethic. During peak periods, I seamlessly transitioned into the high-pressure roles of food preparation and cash register operation, delivering flawless customer service with grace and efficiency.

I’m not just out here chasing a job, I’m looking for something I can pour myself into. A mission. A purpose. A team I can believe in, and one that believes in me.

My name’s Tobias Grossi. I graduated from Walsh University with a degree in Sports Management, but to be honest, the degree doesn’t tell the full story. What does? The sweat, the hours, and the moments where I could’ve quit, but didn’t!

I’ve repaired railroads under the summer sun/winter weather. Maintained entire campuses, building by building. Helped lead event security at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Village, managing pressure, people, and problems in real time. I’ve worked jobs most people overlook, and I’ve given them everything I had. Why? Because that’s just how I was raised.

Through it all, I’ve learned how to lead when it’s hard, stay calm when it’s chaotic, and speak clearly when things get loud. I’ve juggled multiple jobs while playing college football. I’ve shown up tired, sore, or stretched thin, and still found a way to get the job done, because people were counting on me.

More than anything, I believe in character. I live by a simple truth: a man is only as good as his word. That means showing up, owning my responsibilities, and doing the right thing, even when nobody’s watching.

I don’t shy away from pressure. I don’t run from hard work. I’m at my best when I’m part of a team that’s working toward something bigger than themselves…a goal, a vision, a real difference.
