🎂 37 and somehow, it feels like the real beginning.

Last year on this exact day,
I was working at a $2B company I thought was my dream job.
I had a nice apartment overlooking the ocean in Hawaii.
Good friends.
Solid routines.
The kind of life that I felt settled into.

Never did I imagine that just twelve months later,
everything would be flipped upside down.
But that’s life.

When something new wants to be built,
the old foundation has to fall away.
And that process of demolition and rebuilding
is destabilizing.
It tests every part of you.

I don’t think I’ve reached a major rest stop yet,
but there have been milestones that keep me going.

I’ve been blessed to travel while working most of this year.
My mornings are slower now, sometimes I just sit with a hot cup of something,
look at the sky,
and feel grateful to simply be.

My mental health has completely transformed.
I had no idea how much stress and anxiety I was carrying before.

I’ve launched four business ventures built from heart,
projects I truly believe can help create a world
I’d be proud to raise a kid in.

And being a business leader has humbled me.
It’s taught me that nothing I have,
not my intellect, not my opportunities,
was ever mine alone.
They were gifts.
And I hold them that way now.

My partner and I separated along this journey.
Not every path is meant to be walked together.
But I’m at peace with that
and wish her the best on her path ahead as I honor my path forward.

I’m unexpectedly living as an expat in Southeast Asia now,
where new doors are opening,
including the chance to run my first of hopefully many nervous system reset retreats this December in Bali

And somehow, the distance from friends and family
has made our connection even deeper.
The time we do have together feels richer and more genuinely expressive than ever.

I’m not sharing any of this to brag.
I’m sharing because for a long time,
I was scared to share myself openly, good or bad.
Now I just feel comfortable being me,
however it lands.

This past year, I’ve learned that courage changes everything.
The courage to leave what isn’t aligned.
To not settle for “good enough.”
To believe in yourself and take actions that prove it.
To be willing to learn, fail, grow, and stay courageously transparent through it all.

So if you’ve been on the fence about taking a bet on yourself,
or putting your truth out into the world,
this is a friendly, supported nudge:
you don’t have to quit your job like me to be a changemaker.
But the world does need more of us
leading from the heart instead of the ego.
Creating for people, not just profit.

Today I turn 37.
I used to think life stopped being exciting after 35 lol
Turns out, it’s just beginning.

This month my biggest entrepreneurial lesson was to doubt myself more.

I know that sounds odd but let me explain.

I’m not saying to wallow in self doubt. To feel it fully, then choose what comes next.

I used to think “I’m not ready” meant something was wrong. Now I see the doubt arrives first, and the self belief is born because I walked anyway. 

If there was no doubt, what would self-belief even mean?

Self-doubt isn’t the enemy. It’s the doorway we need to continue to walkthrough that leads us to our next level of confidence so embrace it into the process.

Some of you watched me sobbing on the internet, not sure where I was headed amongst what felt like so many uncertain options. In that raw place, I felt my confidence return. People who understood found me. I found strength I didn’t know I had. From there, I launched a new retreat business.

We made sales in the first six weeks. I’m proud of that. It’s a simple 0 to 1, but it’s real signal. And it started with the doubt tunnel, then a conscious choice about the words, thoughts, and beliefs I’d allow in my mind.

When I practice that choice often enough, it becomes my identity. A self that wasnt created by accident or just a cumulation of my unconscious history. A sovereign choice I keep making.

So here’s my rhythm now: feel the doubt, name the next simple move, choose one belief that helps me move, move, collect the truth, adjust. Honestly… that’s the whole game. Keep walking and we don’t lose. 🌊
