Aphelia is a wireless power space startup.

Our "Why" is to consumerize space exploration.

We aim to make interplanetary smallsat space missions more economical while having higher capabilities so that everyday people on Earth can be part of a space-faring civilization, venturing into the unknown.

We make a wireless charging station in space that's dedicated to a smallsat constellation to enable its highest potential of capabilities & reliabilities by having a kW-level of power delivery at a low SWaP ratio & cost, having no dependence on the short period of solar exposure, and no limited precious power for on-demand, flexible satellite operations. The values include increasing user capacity, enhancing data computing performance, increasing data throughput, having operational flexibility of electric propulsion, and others.

Our core technology is the Microwave Wireless Power Transmission System.

Child Vehicular Monitoring System (CVMS) is a solution system designed to tackle among the many issues in Malaysia - children died being left alone/unsupervised in a car.

This solution integrates Digital Image Processing which processes the child's presence in a car, as well as a monitoring system using an app which connects the Parents to their children in real time.

Throughout our progress, it was vital for us to ensure the best work progress in regards to any circumstances in moving from ideation phase to prototype phase while broadening our knowledge in engineering skills, teamship skills as well as the 'Startup Science'.

Within 10-week period of time, we (3 interns) were delegated to design an industrial automation project for International Rubber Gloves Conference & Enxhibtion (IRGCE) '18 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) to detect glove's stain in a production line and send to a database for production quality. It comprises of Vision, Motion and Power BI.

I was responsible to design Vision FH which detects the stains on moving gloves. This is an application of Digital Image Processing but in an industrial automation engineering industry. Among the training we have been to were PLC & CX-Programmer as well as Sysmac Studio.

This was a tangible project which gave me technology insights into Industrial Revolution 4.0 under the guidance of among leading company in the market, Omron Electronics. We were even exposed to the working culture where great people at here mentor us as an engineer who works with various clients from varying industries in the industrial automation industry.

After being nominated as the 2nd Runner-Up of Sunway iLabs Start-It Challenge 2017, my startup, Astra (formerly known as PowerWaver) was selected to participate in the Sunway iLabs Accelerator Programme the following year.

It is a startup incubator programme where we were being guided during our Ideation to Early Stage through mentorship.

Throughout the journey, as PowerWaver is a hardware product tech startup, the way we progress our works differ from the app-based tech startup in terms of producing the product. We met a product design company to assist our prototype development while continuing the R&D of the prototype. Besides, we were taught on the Customer Journey, Design Thinking, Business Model Canvas(BMC), Legal advices, Google Cloud Platform as well as talks by VCs from Silicon Valley.
