Late-diagnosis autism is common. Attention to detail and creativity are strengths though it may not seem so. Selective mutism, dysthymia & autism aren't barriers. Written in 2012, with support from my late friend Donna Williams (Polly Samuel), it's about loving a terminally ill partner, and losing him. Be prepared to feel all the feels. Mostly, it's about "doing what you have to do when your back is up against the wall" as Donna says in her Foreword, while coming to terms with my own diagnosis.

In the 90's I sold at least a thousand 'art on sawblades.' By 1999 I realized I could paint. I never intended to sell my work but soon I was getting mural employment and Art shows, Gallery representation, and was finding presentation engagements that accommodated by communication differences.
My Shattered Image self-portrait painting (I've done a 1/2 dozen versions) has become my unique iconic signature painting. I've sold versions of it and it has appeared on the cover of two books. 
My work has been shown in Kansas, Rhode Island, Boston, California, Connecticut and elsewhere. 
I was interviewed in Keri Bowers docu film ARTS and upcoming film Desire about my experience raising my trans son. I also have an interview in Keri's film ARTS.
I won't list all my publication history here, but one of my proudest achievements is my writing contributions to the book 'Selective Mutism In Our Own Words' (yes that's me on the cover) by Carl Sutton and Cheryl Forrester, because the subject is such a personal one.

Ghostwrote for a burn SURVIVOR,  burned so badly he was in the guinness book for most burns survived on a human body. An immigrant from Iran, he became very rich and had a happy successful family life only to nearly lose it all in an explosion. There are miracles after miracles in this book. Some proceeds go to trauma survivors.
