I saw Gary Vaynerchuk talk about AI to 200 influencers in Miami yesterday

7 harsh truths from the goat:

1. “AI influencers are about to blow up. You hate it because it’ll take your money but it’s happening whether or not you like it”

2. “You hate on AI influencers as inauthentic but you peddle shit you don’t care about”

3. “The more selfless you are, the more you will win. When you’re selfish trying to just be famous you will lose. The more you care about giving your audience value, the more you will win. Everyone plateaus when they’re being more selfish than selfless.”

4. “There’s 8B on earth and about to be 100B ai influencers so you’ve gotta think about what value you’re bringing”

5. “Go even more niche. Attention is so fractionalized now most of you need to go more niche. You couldn’t do that 10 years ago but now you can.”

6. “You just don’t care enough about your community you’re looking at the metrics but don’t care about the people. I flew overnight from LA because I wanna be in the trenches with the community”

7. "We are entering a very weird time where everything is either AI or IRL. Get offline and spend time with your community IRL. AI can't do that."

I moved from NYC to Miami 1 month ago

3 non-obvious reasons Miami is beating NYC so far:

1. Crime

🗽 NYC = disorganized crime (crazy people pushing you on subway, doing drugs in subway, etc.)

🌴 Miami = organized crime (gangs, Russian mob, etc.)

Organized crime sounds worse because of movies, but disorganized crime is much scarier and higher anxiety (SF another great example)

2. Intelligence

🗽 NYC = average person is dumb and psychotically mean 

🌴 Miami = average person is dumb and nice

I hate being around stupid people, but unless you're isolated in the countryside or a monastery, you're forced to live amongst them. 

The average person is just happier here. We all have to be around idiots sometimes, but it's better to have nice idiots than evil ones.

3. Morning walks

🗽 NYC = crackheads, homeless guy taking a dump, anti-Semitic graffiti

🌴 Miami = beach

Idk how to code but I raised $3M. here's all my learnings so far:

1. Solve your own problems first

Solve your own problems then use the magic of the internet to find people like you. 

You are not that unique. 

If you have a problem, so do other people.

This has been my entire philosophy building Memelord from day 1 to our $3M raise.

I wanted to get alerts of the newest trending memes so I wouldn’t have to doomscroll for new memes all the time. And I wanted them to show up on my canvas and have unlimited AI weird tools. Kinda like a mix of Google Alerts for memes and Adobe.

So that's what I built.

2. Obsess over craft.

Be a software artist. In the age of AI slop, be a rebel. 

Don't add more slop to the App Store, add art.

Sure, AI can vibe code some slop app nowadays in minutes, but real craftsmen don’t want slop. We want art.

My grandpa always told me “measure twice, cut once.” I feel like a lot of people these days ain’t even taking the time to measure bro.

Make art, not slop.

3. Every app you’ve used is made by people no smarter than you (often dumber).

I don’t know how to code. 

None of my engineers had ever built an iOS app before. My CTO worked in the government this time last year.

yeah, there were a lot of challenges, both on the code side and dealing with the annoying app store approval process, but all I kept saying to my team was, "If other people figured it out, so can we? Everything is figure-out-able."

Picture this: Second year of Computer Engineering. Everyone's grinding LeetCode. I discovered LinkedIn, started writing, and thought, "Yeh toh maza aa gaya."

What started as casual posts turned into an obsession. For the first time, I was doing something that didn't feel like work. It felt like play.

The plot twist? Telling my parents I'm ditching the software engineer dream for... copywriting.

No connections. No guidance. No roadmap. 

Just vibes and a belief that words could be my superpower.

The grind: Started writing. Posted daily. Landed my first internships just because I showed up on LinkedIn. 

Taught myself storytelling, scriptwriting, design, and now I'm neck-deep in GenAI.

Basically, I'm that generalist who can't stick to one thing because why choose when you can do it all? 

Turning passion into paychecks. Making marketing fun. And proving that sometimes the "wrong" path is exactly the right one.

LinkedIn's too serious, yaar. I'm here to make it more fun, more real & way less boringgg.

I’m a total big failure.
well... if you look from the eyes of a typical indian society.

i spent 4 years grinding through a computer engineering degree. 

technically, i should be sitting in a nice office building, writing code, and settling into a "safe" job.

instead i’m writing stories. i’m making content. i’m in marketing.

i failed the "template." i didn't follow the set rules of society followed for generations.

and honestly? sometimes it hits hard.

my batchmates are posting about their big MNC offers. 

and i’m still here, hustling, figuring out my next move.

you open social media and see 19-year-olds buying supercars. 

meanwhile, i’m literally getting pushed around in buses.

at 23, the internet makes you feel like you’re already "expired." like you’re a loser for not having it all figured out.

but then i take a step back. and i look at this through the eyes of young sharvin.

and to him? i’m a total hero. i’m a top g.

because i went from a shy, introverted kid to a guy who is:

writing for brands i admire.

guiding juniors who are scared to take the leap.

even acting in reels (lol),  something the old me would have fainted at.

i realized that early success is loud, but real success is quiet. 

it’s about alignment.

but here is the big disclaimer no one gives you: taking the "rebel" path isn't all happy vibes.

it is difficult. some days you will regret it. 

some days the "stable salary" will look very tempting.

but that’s what separates the short-term players from the long-term winners.

you have to struggle at the start. 

you have to block the noise. 
you have to trust the process when everyone else is doubting you.

so yes, to society, i might be a failure. 

but i’m building a life i actually want to live.

i’d rather be a "failure" doing what i love than a "success" doing what i hate.

you aren't late. you’re just f*cking young (thanks gary vee).

keep grinding.

what’s one "risky" choice you made that everyone else thought was crazy?

i used to think i was the unluckiest guy on earth.
for real, i had that exact jethalal wali kismat.

every time i tried to do something, life would throw a curveball.

it was always something.

i had all my excuses ready:

"my laptop is too slow to even open the software."

"i have too much work and i'm drowning."

"if only i had this one tool, things would be better."

i felt like murphy’s law was written just for me.

if something could go wrong, it would go wrong in the most annoying way possible.

but then i started getting into storytelling & i finally zoomed out.

i realized that what i called "bad luck" was actually just a good plot.
think about it.

if you watch a movie where everything goes perfect, you’ll turn it off in 5 minutes.

it’s boring.

a great story needs obstacles.

it needs the main character to struggle, fail, and deal with the mess.

now when my laptop crashes or things get chaotic, i don't get as annoyed.

i just think: "okay, the plot is getting interesting now."

i’m the hero of my own story.

so i need these twists and turns.

otherwise, what am i going to tell my grandkids?

"i sat in a room and nothing happened"?

no.

i want to tell them the "how i met your mother" version of my life lol.

it’s these small, messy details that make you stand out.

no one can copy your specific struggles.

that’s your unique edge.

for example, in my final year of college, i had a group presentation that turned into a total disaster.

at the time, i thought my career was over.

now? it’s one of the best stories i have.

your life isn’t simple.

every weird day and every "fail" is just a scene waiting to be shared.

so stop complaining about the plot and start enjoying the role.
