Returned to corporate; was offered the opportunity to make a national impact by connecting current and future leaders (aka recruiters) with resources and tools for success. As a BPA on the Recruitment Center of Excellence (RCOE) team, my role was to help define, standardize, and evaluate recruiting processes for our 70+ local offices across the country.

I facilitated virtual group coaching sessions for over 300 recruiter trainees nationwide as part of our 13 week Recruiter Lead program. This learning experience provided access to live corporate partners, offering additional support for their development. And for me personally, it was a crash course in our business as I got to teach the very acumen I wanted to learn... again and again.

After the recession, I joined a non-profit organization recommended by NYC's Workforce1, entering a new industry and working with the justice-involved population for the first time. To be honest, my decision to join was primarily driven by the convenience of walking to work from home, avoiding the morning rush subway commute and the stability of a steady paycheck again. Little did I know that the work of connecting so many marginalized individuals to livable wage employment would turn out to be so rewarding! Leveraging my diverse experience across various industries, I quickly excelled in my roles as a job developer, recruiter, and career coach then being promoted to program coordinator and program manager.

Seeking a more community-oriented career path, I left the corporate world and took up a role as an Account Executive for NYC gay nightlife magazine giant HX Media (aka HOMO XTRA). In this capacity, I was responsible for selling and coordinating over 150 booths for the 2008 Gay Life Expo at The Jacob Javits Convention Center.

𝗠𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆:

In 2017, I left the only life I knew in NYC and relocated to Maryland to look after my parents both suffering from dementia. This unanticipated move was both humbling and profound.

In 2018, I finally achieved sobriety (after 25 years) 🙌🏾 and adopted new habits and routines that completely transformed my health. Sadly I lost my dad the following year and I continue to look after mom, diagnosed with Alzheimer's. In 2020, my partner stepped in and took over her care 💗 allowing me the space to focus on healing.

In 2021, I rejoined the workforce and was promoted twice in my first year! With rapid success came burnout, leading me to take another career break to refocus and reframe.

In 2022, a long overdue diagnosis sparked insights into my hyper-achieving and neurodivergence 🧠 This led me to work with coaches virtually around the world, deepen my self-awareness, implement new systems *designed by me* for me ✅ and continue to 'unlearn' old programming 🧗🏽‍♂️
