To live the life you desire, you must intentionally design it and consistently take actions required to create it. Everything else is a distraction.

Years of experience as a problem solver through product design and development has taught me a thing or two about intentionally designing and building the kind of life I want.

Now, I’m on an exciting adventure to fully live it and teach it.

Many years ago, I realized 2 things:
- My life wasn’t going as great as I’d like it to be
- I was gifted in and had comprehension for a lot of things but had so little result to show for it

This led me on a journey of self-discovery. Here’s what I found:
- I lacked self-awareness
- I wasn’t intentional about how I use the most precious resource we all have - TIME ⏲️
- Potential without productivity = waste. I wasn't creating

I was fed up and ready to make a change. I came out of that journey with a 35+ pages document about myself which will become a guide for others soon to do the same.

Today I am:
- Living an intentional life... by design
- Spending my time creating solutions for my world in the areas of my passion
- Teaching others to do the same

She works closely with nonprofit partners to ensure funding is aligned with strong stewardship, clear outcomes, and measurable impact.

Wendy holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stetson University and a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Florida Atlantic University.

Walked five miles, voted for my friend Jon Maples, picked up two favorites Unreal Snacks & Power Crunch, and arrived at my office to find a book written by Randy Scheid, MPA. I look forward to reading it. Randy has over 30 years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors and continues to support nonprofits and foundations through his work at RGS Partners Consulting.

Next, I have a meeting with Cynthia Hunt, who leads sales for OUTFRONT Media. I am curious if they will provide a billboard to help promote the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital  Walk Palm Beach. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a national day of service, a federal holiday specifically designated for Americans to volunteer and work for the betterment of their communities, directly answering King's question through action. 

Dr. King asked, "What are you doing for others?" highlighting service as life's most urgent question and the path to fulfillment.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister and civil rights leader who advocated for nonviolent resistance against racial segregation. For many, his name evokes thoughts of freedom, integrity, equality and fairness.

VoLo Foundation supports The 4Roots Farm Campus through grants for collaborative work with World Wildlife Fund Food Waste Warriors and Arbor Day Foundation tree planting initiatives. These programs help 4R stay dedicated to transforming food systems through community involvement and promoting healthy communities. 

The campus features an education center with classrooms for students to learn about farm-to-table practices.

The organization supports responsible farming, increases access to fresh, nutritious food, and educates on the impact of food on health and the environment.

For the 3rd consecutive year, VoLo Foundation is proud to support “Creating a Sustainable Planet,” a youth program and competition led by Mi Familia Vota en Acción Florida.  The initiative equipped 80 students across 20 teams from Orange County Public Schools and Osceola County School District with sustainability leadership and STEM-based tools. 

Following a rigorous evaluation process, 10 finalist teams were selected, with Colonial High School earning first place and the Leadership Award, followed by Poinciana High School, Osceola High School, and Lake Buena Vista High School.

A new record was set for digital engagement, reaching 124,854 views and 64,077 interactions, demonstrating the power of youth-driven innovation to inspire broader community impact.

Beyond the competition, students strengthened their academic pathways through the “Path to University” conference led by Soraya Marquez and Bernardita M. Sierra M.S M.Ed. and were honored with an official proclamation from Buddy Dyer Mayor of Orlando, certificates of recognition, and sustainability kits.

Partners also include Biophilia Training Institute, Hispanic Federation, and the City of Orlando. Programs like this don’t just recognize talent today; they help build the professional foundation for tomorrow’s environmental leaders.

Florida Smart Agriculture released this report at their Circular Bioeconomy Forum at the UF IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center in Lake Alfred. The report is one of the deliverables in FLSA’s circular bioeconomy work stream to share the experiences and insight of their featured farmers, ranchers, foresters and fishers across their network of collaborating state, national, and global private and public sector partners.
 
This is a fantastic knowledge sharing report that (they said) would have not been written without support from VoLo Foundation. Solutions From the Land

This is a Computer Lab Project in Ethiopia where VoLo Foundation’s grantmaking has helped them make significant strides:

- Expanded the community computer lab, doubling its capacity
- Enabled up to 50 students per session to access digital literacy programming
- Added new computers, reliable internet, and upgraded furnishings
- Powered the lab with a solar energy system in a community facing frequent power outages
- Opened new pathways to education, employment, and long-term community resilience

Lelt Foundation works with families living in extreme poverty who do not want a handout – they want a solution. They’ve developed a strategy that incorporates 3 main components of assistance:

NUTRITION
They tackle malnutrition by offering balanced daily meals and food rations for struggling families.

EDUCATION
Once their children are well-fed and healthy, they focus on providing an advanced education.

ECONOMIC MOBILITY
They offer adult education classes and vocational  training to the parents in their community, empowering them to become financially independent and sustainable.

This exemplifies what meaningful investment in education, community development, and sustainability looks like.
