I am pioneering a research in precision medicine using miRNA biomarkers.

PRiME Fellow 

• Researching the development of portable therapeutic manufacturing and diagnostic technologies.
• Designing biosensors for nucleic acids, and developing low-cost isothermal amplification strategies.

1.	Strategic Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, professors, and professionals to develop and streamline healthcare solutions, focusing on diagnostics, gene modification, biomanufacturing, and therapeutics.

2.	Global Project Coordination: Manage partnerships with global stakeholders to conduct device testing and field validation of our innovative portable diagnostic devices, ensuring compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements.

3.	Leadership and Mentorship: Supervise and mentor a diverse team of postgraduate students, undergraduate students, and newly employed postdocs, guiding project implementation and fostering a collaborative research environment.

4.	Documentation and Compliance: Develop and maintain critical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions, to uphold quality and regulatory standards in all research and development activities.

5.	Seminar and Workshop Facilitation: Coordinated the Faculty of Pharmacy seminars between 2022 and 2023, enhancing academic collaboration and promoting cutting-edge research findings.

6.	Industry Collaboration: Work closely with industry partners to ensure that projects adhere to agreed timelines and meet both the technical and commercial expectations, facilitating the successful translation of lab-scale innovations to market-ready products.

I co-founded the MISiS African Union during my time as a student at the National University of Science and Technology in Moscow, Russia. What began as a small group has since grown significantly, gaining the attention and support of various African countries' Embassies in Russia. The MISiS African Union has also helped to launch the "It's Time to Study in Russia" program, aimed at encouraging students from Africa to consider Russia as a study destination.

• Researched organic and inorganic solar cells, as well as perovskite solar cells, with a focus on optimizing their performance.

I completed a compulsory one-year national youth service assignment after college, during which I was posted to Community Secondary School, Lorre, in Khana LGA of Rivers State, Nigeria. As a tutor, I taught mathematics and physics to secondary school students while also participating in community development services, commonly referred to as the CDS. In addition, I was a member of the MDGs CDS group. The experience was fulfilling, and I still maintain connections with some of my former students.

Dr. IWE has a wealth of experience gained from working in various laboratories and facilities worldwide. Notably, he began his educational journey in Nigeria, where he obtained his undergrad degree in Mechanical Engineering from FUTO, graduating with First-Class Honours, setting a record for the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration option of Mechanical Engineering that had not been achieved in decades. He went on to earn his MSc in NUST - Russia, where he accomplished with Distinction at 100%. He completed his PhD studies in Mechanical Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Currently, he is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Toronto, Canada, where he continues his research. He is one of the 2024 PRiME Fellows. His exceptional academic achievements set a precedent for future generations, inspiring them to aim high and work hard to achieve their goals. His tireless dedication to excellence and his commitment to his research and business pursuits make him a role model and a source of inspiration to many.


Dr. IWE also has an impressive record of achievements in the tech sector.
