And a few things changed while I was away.

First, LinkedIn feels louder than before.
More opinions. More noise. Less depth.

Second, everyone seems to be in a rush to sell something.

Faster pitches. 
Shorter attention. 
Quicker judgments.

And third, genuine conversations feel rarer.
But when they happen, they matter more than ever.

But more than all of that, something else happened.

When I opened LinkedIn after those two months, I saw hundreds of unread messages.

Messages saying:

“Ifti, are you okay?”
“Where did you disappear?”
“Hope everything is fine on your end.”
“LinkedIn doesn’t feel the same without your insights.”

I didn’t expect that.

And that’s when it hit me.

Over the last year, without being loud or trying to impress, I had built something real.

Not just content.
Not just visibility.

A small, loyal community of people who cared beyond the post.

And that means a lot to me.

So yes, I’m back.
But things will be different this time.

This profile won’t be about surface-level updates or chasing attention.

One thing I’ve never negotiated with in my life is my health.

Not when work gets busy.
Not when travel gets hectic.
Not even when the days get long.

For me, staying fit isn’t about looking a certain way. 

It’s about clarity, stamina, and showing up fully, year after year.

Cycling has always helped me with that. 

Some days it’s the only time my mind slows down. 

Over the years, I’ve realised that if you want to stay sharp in your career, especially over decades, your body has to keep up with your responsibilities.

If you don’t take care of it, everything else eventually pays the price, focus, decision-making, even temperament.

I’ve seen many talented people burn out not because they lacked skill, but because they ignored the basics for too long.

For me, fitness is not a break from work.

It’s part of how I stay sharp, grounded, and dependable.

And In my opinion long careers aren’t built on intensity alone.

They’re built on sustainability.

And that starts with taking responsibility for your own health, before anything else.

A few years ago, a senior advisor called me late one evening.

He wasn’t asking for a deal.
He wasn’t asking for numbers.

He said, “Iftikhar, I have a long-standing client. 

Very particular, Very private. I can’t afford to get this wrong.”

I knew exactly what he meant.

When you sit in that position, private banker, wealth manager, family office principal, the risk isn’t just financial.

It’s reputational.

You’re not judged on effort.
You’re judged on outcomes.

And the truth is, most advisors don’t lose clients because they lack intent or intelligence.

They lose them because they were forced to rely on the wrong execution partner at the wrong moment.

-Generic agents.
-Over-promised access.
-Or someone who understood the price but not the responsibility.

In Central London, that margin for error is razor thin.

This is why, over the years, I stopped thinking in terms of “transactions” and started thinking in terms of protection.

-> Protecting the client from bad decisions.
-> Protecting the advisor from uncomfortable explanations.
-> Protecting trust that took decades to build.

That evening, I didn’t show listings.
I didn’t pitch.

I asked questions.
I explained what was realistic, what wasn’t, and where patience mattered more than speed.

That client eventually invested. Quietly and Correctly.

And the advisor kept his relationship intact.

This is the part of the business that rarely gets discussed publicly.
But it’s the part that matters most.

If you’re in a position where your name is attached to every recommendation you make, you’ll understand exactly what I’m talking about.

Because in the end, access is important.

But judgement is everything.

What’s the biggest risk you try to protect your clients from, a bad deal or a bad experience?

After all these years, one thing still surprises me.

The most difficult part of this work is not finding opportunities.

It’s knowing when not to act.

Early in my career, I believed speed was an advantage.

Respond quickly. Move fast. Close efficiently.

With time, I learned something different.

The best decisions often come from restraint.

From saying, “Not yet.”
From walking away when something doesn’t feel right, even if it looks good on paper.

When you’re advising people who’ve taken decades to build wealth, haste becomes a liability.

And patience becomes a form of respect.

Some of the strongest relationships I’ve built didn’t start with a transaction.

They started with an honest conversation where the answer was no.

No pressure.
No urgency.
Just clarity.

This approach doesn’t make noise.
But it builds something far more valuable over time, trust.

And trust, in this world, compounds quietly.

There’s something about working with very successful people that no one really tells you.

The money isn’t the hard part.
The emotions are.

When someone has spent decades building wealth, every decision carries history. 

Past wins. 
Past losses. 
Family expectations.
Fear of making a mistake.
Regret. 
Pride. 

And all of that walks into the room with them.

As advisors, we’re often expected to be calm, confident, and certain. 

But behind that, there’s a lot of listening that needs to happen before anything sensible can move forward.

I’ve learned over time that the most important thing you can offer in those moments isn’t a solution.

It’s composure.

The ability to slow things down, to read what isn’t being said, and to know when reassurance matters more than action.

This part of the work doesn’t show up in numbers or reports.

But it’s where trust is either built or quietly lost.

If you’ve ever sat across from someone who had everything to gain and everything to lose, you’ll know exactly what I mean.

One thing that surprises people outside this market is this:

Most Central London deals don’t fall apart at the start.
They fall apart after everyone thinks it’s done.

Price agreed.
Hands shaken.
Client excited.

And then the real work begins.

This is where assumptions surface, expectations clash, timelines stretch, and small misunderstandings quietly turn into big problems.

At this stage, it’s no longer about negotiation skills.

It’s about judgement, patience, and knowing how these situations usually unravel if not handled carefully.

Over the years, I’ve learned that closing a deal is rarely the hardest part.

Protecting it through the final stretch is.

That’s why experience matters most when things slow down, not when they move fast.

Because in this market, confidence is built not on how quickly you agree, but on how calmly you handle what comes after.

P.S- Where do you see deals break down most often, early excitement or late execution?

Everyone talks about off-market property.

Very few understand what it actually means.

In Central London, off-market is not about secrecy or special listings. 

It’s about trust, timing, and long-standing relationships.

Developers don’t “release” inventory quietly by accident. 

They do it because they know 

-> Who can execute
-> Who won’t waste time
-> Who understands the responsibility that comes with introducing the right buyer.

After 25 years on the ground, I’ve learned this:

Access is built long before a deal ever exists.

That’s why relying on generic agents or last-minute sourcing often puts advisors in uncomfortable positions with their best clients.

The real work happens much earlier.

In conversations, credibility, and consistency.

P.S- Do you think off-market is about information, or relationships?

Most difficult conversations in my work don’t start with numbers.

They start when someone says,
“My client wants this… but I’m not sure the market will allow it.”

That gap is where things usually get uncomfortable.

Over the years, I’ve learned that my real role isn’t to push ambition or defend the market. 

It’s to sit calmly in the middle and make sure neither side loses trust in the process.

Clients don’t mind hearing no.
They mind being surprised later.

Advisors don’t mind slowing down.
They mind having to explain things after the fact.

When expectations and reality are aligned early, decisions age well.

They make sense today, and they’re still easy to stand by years later.

That’s the kind of outcome I care about.

Here are 10 things I've NEVER seen a "LinkedIn expert" tell you, but every person pulling 50+ leads a month is doing:

1. Stop writing for everyone. Write for the one person who can write you a check. Everyone else is just an add-on.


2. Your profile headline is NOT a job title. It's a results promise. 
"I help X get Y without Z" beats "Founder | Speaker | Consultant" every time.


3. The first 3 words of your post matter more than the entire post. 
If it doesn't stop the scroll, nothing else matters.


4. Comments on other posts get you more visibility than your own posts. Spend 60% of your time there.


5. People don't engage with perfection. They engage with specificity. "I lost $12K on a bad hire" beats "hiring is hard" every single time.


6. Your "About" section should read like a sales page, not a resume. 
Lead with their problem, not your credentials.


7. Tag people strategically, not desperately. 
One relevant tag in a post where you genuinely reference their work = gold. Five random tags = spam.


8. If your post doesn't make someone feel something in 10 seconds (anger, curiosity, recognition, hope), you've already LOST.


9. The LinkedIn algorithm rewards conversation; it doesn't matter how many times the algorithm changes, this remains constant. 

One comment thread with 8 replies beats 20 standalone comments.


10. Stop asking "does this resonate?" at the end of posts. It screams insecurity. 
End with a statement, a question that makes them think, or nothing at all.


Most LinkedIn advice is designed to keep you busy to be very real!!

This? This is designed to get you SEEN!
Big difference.


P.S. Spent my weekend replying to DMs. The most common question? "How do I break out of LinkedIn jail when nothing's working?" 
This list is that jailbreak.

We need to retire this ONE bad LinkedIn habit.



Posting your content and vanishing like a ghost. 💀


I see it every single day.
Someone drops a post.
Gets 5 comments.
And… nothing.

No replies.
No engagement back.
Just radio silence.


Then they DM me 3 weeks later asking, "Why isn't LinkedIn working for me?"


Bro???


You're treating LinkedIn like a billboard when it's actually a networking event.


You wouldn't walk into a room, shout your opinion, and leave without talking to anyone, WOULD YOU?

Consistency is different when it’s accidental.

LinkedIn in 2026(already) is basically:

20% humble brags disguised as "lessons"
30% "agree?" posts from people who don't actually want your opinion
40% screenshots of obvious tweets
And 100% people pretending they work 4 hours a week from a beach
The math doesn't add up.

Neither does half the advice here. 😂

→ Eat a salad. A full salad. With no dressing.
→ Manually update my resume. In Comic Sans.
→ Attend a 6 AM "motivational webinar" about synergy
→ Count to 10,000. Out loud. In public.
→ Get stuck in an elevator with someone pitching me their MLM
→ Reply to every "let's connect!" DM I've ever ignored

Look.
I get it.

New year energy. Fresh starts. Reflection time.

And 99% of them end with some vague lesson like "believe in yourself" or "trust the process."

Bro.

That's not a lesson. That's a fortune cookie.
If you're going to reflect, at least make it USEFUL.


Tell me
What you tried that failed
What you changed that worked
What you'd do differently if you started over


Give me specifics. Give me numbers. Give me something I can actually USE.

"I posted 4 times a week and got zero clients" → Cool, what did you change?
"I hired 3 coaches and wasted $2K" → Okay, what would you do instead now?
"I almost quit but didn't" → Great, but WHY didn't you quit? What kept you going?

Reflection posts aren't bad. Generic reflection posts are.

If your "lessons learned" post could apply to literally anyone in any industry doing anything...

It's not a lesson. It's filler content.

So if you're planning to post your 2025 lessons (and honestly, please don't unless you have something real to say)...

Make it specific. Make it honest. Make it something people can learn from.

Because I'm tired of watching people post for months with zero DMs, zero calls, and a whole lot of confusion about "why LinkedIn doesn't work."

LinkedIn works.
Your strategy doesn't.

Nobody's reading your job history on your profile.
Nobody cares about your MBA.

They're asking ONE question: "Can this person solve my problem?"
Your headline should answer that in 5 seconds.

Example: One client had "Marketing Manager | Passionate about growth" in his headline.

Changed it to: "I help SaaS founders generate 30+ qualified leads/month."

Booked 6 calls within a month.

You're posting LITERALLY anything and calling it content

Bro. Where's the action step?

People want: 
"I did THIS. Got THAT result. Here's how you can too."
Give them a roadmap, as simple as that.

You're commenting on the wrong people's posts
You're dropping thoughtful comments on other coaches' posts.

Cool. But can they afford you?

Here's who you SHOULD be engaging with:
CEOs. Founders. Decision-makers in your niche.

People who have the BUDGET and the PAIN POINT you solve.

My $4K client, I found him in a comment section.
He was complaining about LinkedIn not working.

I replied with one insight. He DM'd me: "Can we talk?"
Signed 2 days later.
That's strategic engagement.

Someone views your profile.
You DM them: "Hey! I help businesses scale on LinkedIn. Let's connect!"
Congratulations. You just got ignored.

"Hey [name], I saw you checked out my profile. What's going on with your Business right now?"
That's it.

I get responses 8 out of 10 times with this.

You have no idea what's actually working
You post. Get some likes. Feel good. Move on.

But do you know which post brought you profile views?
Which one led to DMs?

Which topics make your target clients actually engage?
I track EVERYTHING.

Post type. Hook used. Engagement. Profile views. DMs received.
After 30 days, I know EXACTLY what brings money.
And I do more of that.


Because the difference between someone making $0 and someone making $10K from LinkedIn?
They stopped doing random shit and started doing strategic shit.

I figured out LinkedIn completely alone.

That's the part nobody mentions between their Canva success posts.
The messy, exhausting, relentless part.

But YOU KNOW WHAT else you chose?

Pre-business me was thinking small. 
Not from lack of belief, I always knew something BIG was coming.
I was just waiting for permission that was never going to arrive.

Some days it's heavy as hell.
But most days I look around and realize I'm living a life I designed.
And that hits different.

6–7 years ago, life looked VERY different for me.


I wasn’t in Dubai running LinkedIn strategies for CEOs and coaches.

I was actually fighting with my family just to move out.


I was sitting in exams I didn’t even care about, being told by a professor that with maths I could “only ever be a teacher.”

And I knew deep inside… I was not made for boring routines.


Fast-forward to moving to Dubai → I had no money, no network, no confidence (Literally nothing)

The turning point was when I realized Marketing is my cup of tea.

I rebuilt MYSELF.


And slowly, 
I turned LinkedIn into the one place where I could show up, grow, and build something real.


Today, LinkedIn is juts not "an app” for me.
It’s the place I built my career & business.


It’s the tool I use to help CEOs & coaches sign $10K+ clients.


And it’s proof that you don’t need to come from money, a degree, or a perfect plan to create something powerful.

Vulnerability builds trust faster than your wins.


FORMULA #4: THE CONTRAST

"[Thing] isn't broken. Your [approach] is."

Show them what's wrong vs what's right.


FORMULA #5: THE BOLD PREDICTION

"In [timeframe], [X%] of [your audience] will [negative outcome]. Here's why." "Your [metric] will [drop/rise] if you keep [doing X]."

Make them curious about the future.


Break their expectation. Make them pay attention.

P.S. - Storytelling on LinkedIn is powerful when it's relevant. But if I have to scroll through your childhood, your struggles, and your awakening just to find out what you're actually offering... I'm already gone.

November: 2 likes, 2k impressions
December: 370 likes, 30K+ impressions on a single post
+So many inbound calls, we PAUSED doing outreach completely.


What changed?
Not the founder(ofc haha). Not the company. Not the quality of work.


Just one thing: We stopped letting his LinkedIn lie about who he actually is.


Your LinkedIn is probably underselling you by 10x.
This founder was closing enterprise deals. Big budgets. Real impact.

But his LinkedIn spoke "I help startups grow."

So guess who was sliding into his DMs?
Startups with $2K budgets asking for discounts.

Meanwhile, enterprise clients who NEEDED him were scrolling past, thinking, "Not for us."


First call with him, I asked: "Who's your dream client?"
He said, "Enterprise companies with XYZ problem."


I looked at his profile: "Your LinkedIn content shouts that you work with startups."


We fixed it in Week 1.
Headline: Changed to position him for enterprise.

About section: Rewrote to speak directly to CTOs and VPs, not startup founders.

Case studies: Same client work. But written to position them as an expert for enterprises.

Problem. Solution. Proof. Done.

Just: This was broken. We fixed it. Here's the result.

Week 2, first new post: 15K impressions.
He texted me: "I like how we are moving."

Week 3, second post: 22K impressions.
13 enterprise founders DM'd him.

Week 4: We slowed down on outreach because he needed to hire one more BD person.

Now it's consistent.
220+ likes per post. 30K+ impressions. Inbound calls every week.

People spend MONTHS posting content.
Writing. Editing. Scheduling. Engaging.

But they never fix the ONE thing that matters most:
Who your LinkedIn says you are.

You can have the best content strategy in the world.
But if your profile says "I help everyone," nobody thinks you're for them.

If your case studies read like reports, nobody cares.

If your positioning doesn't match your reality, you're invisible to the people who actually have money.


So before you post again, ask yourself:

Does my LinkedIn position me for the clients I actually want?
Or am I attracting the wrong people because I'm too vague, too generic, or too scared to niche down?

LinkedIn is a MESS right now.
And somehow, it's still the best platform to build a business on.


Let me explain.
2025 was CHAOTIC on LinkedIn.
Profiles are being restricted without notice.


And that too without warning, just: "Your account has been restricted."
People logging in from different cities are being flagged as hackers.

Sending 30 connection requests and getting slapped with "suspicious activity."


Using automation tools? Account gone. Permanently. Bye-bye.
Even changing your profile too many times in a week? Restricted.

LinkedIn basically became a platform that punishes you for TRYING.
And you know what? Part of me gets it.


LinkedIn cracked down on fake profiles. AI-generated pictures. 
Spam bots are sending "let's connect" 500 times a day.


They're cleaning house.
And cleaning house is messy.


But here's the thing.
Everyone on Instagram was CRYING about algorithm changes in 2025.
Everyone on Twitter was CRYING about reach dying.
Everyone on TikTok was WORRIED about bans.

But LinkedIn
Despite all the chaos, despite the restrictions, despite the "LinkedIn jail" everyone was screaming about?

It quietly became the MOST powerful platform to make money online.


📍Instagram is oversaturated with influencers nobody trusts.
📍Twitter is a war zone of opinions nobody cares about.
📍TikTok is entertaining, but nobody's buying anything there.

LinkedIn?
People come here with their WALLETS open.
CEOs. Founders. Decision-makers.


People who actually have budgets and problems they need solved.
No other platform gives you access to that kind of audience for FREE.


My clients closed deals worth $$$. Booked calls every week. 
Built authority in their industries.


And in 2026
LinkedIn is finally cleaning up the playground🤍


Which means if you build your personal brand here NOW?
You're getting in at the best possible time.


And the people who figure that out first?
