Stop paying Google to find your own name.

I just got off a call with a founder from 🇨🇭 Zurich. He's doing everything right.

He’s building an AI resume tool. He spent 5 months hustling on TikTok and Instagram, filming organic videos, figuring out formats, and scaling with creators. He’s getting massive traction.

But he had a huge leak in his bucket.

Every time someone saw his viral video and Googled his brand name, the first result was... his own Google Ad. He was paying Google thousands just to show up when people already knew who he was.

I pulled up his search results. Half of page 1 was owned by strangers. Trustpilot. Random recruitment companies. A Crunchbase listing that belonged to someone else entirely.

Everyone thinks it starts with massive keyword research and blog posts. It doesn’t. It starts with owning your own name. If you don't own your own page 1, no content strategy in the world will save you.

I told him the fix is free, but it's boring:

1️⃣  Claim every profile you can: LinkedIn, Product Hunt, Crunchbase, Twitter, YouTube. Not for people to read, but because Google fills page 1 with them.

2️⃣ Skip the "submit to 500 directories" packages. Look at where your actual competitors show up (Futurepedia, etc.) and submit manually.

3️⃣ Once you own your name, then start building the content your competitors are winning with (templates, examples, tools).

Most founders skip step 1. Then they wonder why they're paying Google a tax just to be found.
