Had a really good and thoughtful conversation with Mr. Srinath Ravichandran from Agnikul, India’s first private rocket-launch startup based out of Chennai.

What struck me instantly was his contrast, someone working on rockets, thinking about orbit and space, yet so grounded, calm, and down to earth. He spoke about how the aerospace industry humbles you completely… how much you’re dependent on nature and its mercy, no matter how advanced the technology is.

He openly shared his journey of building Agnikul—especially the early days, the struggles, and why choosing the first 100 people is one of the most critical decisions for any organization. One line that stayed with me: rocket science can be taught, but attitude, empathy, and how people treat each other cannot.

Hearing about the first successful launch from Sriharikota the emotions, the teamwork, the collective belief, was genuinely inspiring. What made it even better was how simply he explained complex ideas, using everyday analogies and even Tamil movie references, making rocket science feel relatable for a room full of IT folks.

No big ego. No loud success stories. Just clarity, humility, and deep respect for the team.

Big kudos to the Agnikul team, and wishing them the very best as they continue pushing boundaries 🚀

This happened yesterday at the (KLP) Kissflow Leadership Program  Season 3. We’ve been learning from many inspiring entrepreneurs, and this one will definitely stay with me for a long time.

Yesterday, after we met, a partner from Germany sent me a LinkedIn connection request.
What truly stood out was the note he added, in Tamil.

I’ve received thousands of LinkedIn requests over the years, and not a single one had a Tamil note until now.

That small gesture was deeply moving.

In a time when language is often discussed through debates and divides, this reflected something far more meaningful—the respect behind the effort. Learning, or even attempting, to communicate in the language of the land you are in is cultural sensitivity at its best.

During our conversation, I casually showed him the Munich Tamil community website. He asked a simple yet striking question:
“Why isn’t this website in Tamil and English?”

That question carried the same mindset as his message.. Meeting people where they are, and making a conscious effort to communicate in an inclusive way.

Respecting a language isn’t just about speaking it. It’s about the thoughtfulness to create space for it.

For me:
- Learning another language out of respect is powerful.
- Imposing or expecting someone to speak another language in their own land is not.

Sometimes, the smallest gestures say the most and quietly build bridges across cultures.

It was great meeting you Ralf! Loved the energy, wisdom, strong frameworks in planning and strategy.

Always inspiring to learn from leaders who simplify complexity and think long-term.
