I hate the word "affordability." 

At many points in life, I have realised how inhuman this word really is.
How can anyone decide whether someone can afford to take their next breath? Can you afford the ventilator? Can you afford the ambulance?
How can these even be questions?

That one injection that could provide immediate relief...but it's beyond your budget? "Come back when you've arranged the money," they say. And what are we supposed to do until then? Just wait and watch the condition deteriorate?
Yesterday was one such day for me.

My aunt and her husband live in a small city in Bihar. He is physically challenged. They have no children. A medical emergency forced them to rush to what is considered THE BEST hospital in their city. My aunt was admitted to the ICU, a bill was made, and then they were referred to the state capital government BEST for critical care and dialysis.

When they reached Patna, they were told there's NO BED available.
With no option left, they had to turn to private hospitals. Anywhere that would provide immediate care. In just two days, my uncle has fallen into debt that will likely take months to recover from.

And the worst part? There's no one to hold accountable.
Unfortunately, we just can't "afford" systems like these.

I'm trying my best to help them. If anyone reading this knows someone personally in Patna who might help her access relief through any central or state healthcare scheme, please do me this favor. I'll be forever grateful. This could save them from the mounting expenses of ongoing dialysis and further medical procedures.

Can you make people stop without asking them to pause, feel lost without pushing them into confusion, indulge without offering escape, attach without demanding loyalty, move without telling them where to go, drift from A to Z, and somehow find their way back to G, without them feeling guided or managed?

All without frameworks. Without calling it a process.
With words. Mere words??? YES??
