Genesis Youth Program

Youth Counseling , Personal Growth and Group Counseling Services.
We offered personal growth discussion groups for groups of teens in New Canaan, CT. Typical teens struggling with identity, drugs, school, friends and family issues. I was the Director of Genesis and I formed an alliance with another program in the County called Center Stone.

We combined to staff offices in the Junior and Senior High Schools in New Canaan. These were drop-in offices for kids to talk about any issues that were on their minds or causing difficulties. In addition to the drop-in offices and personal growth groups, we offered individual counseling sessions as needed for the kids as well as organized trips to amusement parks and camping / hiking trips with groups of teens. 

The last 2 years I ran Genesis, I combined our program under the umbrella of a large county social service agency Child and Family Services. With this affiliation I got supervision and support from the senior level Social Work staff.

Helping people discover and live their Purpose...is my Life Purpose. I’m an experienced Career and Life Coach with a diverse background in counseling, group leadership, personal growth coaching, and business communications. 

I was the director of a youth counseling program for five years before taking my people and communications skills to a 30+ year career in sales and marketing. I know business and career management from real-life experience.  

For over 12 years I was a highly trained volunteer counselor and then instructor of a community-based counseling program, providing services to people who otherwise could not access counseling. I am dedicated to social justice issues (i.e. undoing racism) and I work with various organizations promoting equality and justice for all…with no exceptions.  

The combination of my experience as a highly trained community counselor and instructor, a father of two grown sons, a husband of 47+ years and my corporate marketing career provides the rich career and life experience I bring to my Break-Through Career and Life Coaching practice.
