A music event company that founded 5 separate successful brands, worked with 100+ promoters, that saw us host 1000’s of uni students across a variety of venues, dancing to the whole spectrum of dance music genres. Good times! Not very profitable… 😅

Breathe Events

During my time at university, I co-founded a social event company with a friend. By aligning with industry trends, we continually sold out and produced a 145% return on investment while developing a network of artists and venues in the Nottingham region. We regularly had to pitch our events to larger venues and management teams of high-profile artists and were never unsuccessful.

I completed a four-month internship with RESA, a tradeshow logistics business situated in Barcelona. My job included data management and working on the ground at trade exhibitions to coordinate with customers and determine which services they needed. Being invited to fly to Malaga and manage the arrangements for a complete expo was a really memorable experience. I managed a small team, which really provided me with insight of what management is like.

My role as a waiter was to provide excellent customer service. It was a large restaurant so I had to work with a large team so sticking to procedure and helping each other out was key. It was different to anywhere else I’ve worked as it was part of a chain; there were many more rules and procedures that needed to be followed but this did make my work load easier and more efficient. There were also many Spanish and Latino customers that came for the authentic food so my fluency in Spanish helped a lot.

I met with each client to go over their needs, budget, and timeline. I would work around their schedules and return for maintenance once or twice a year. All of the work we carried out received excellent feedback. I was especially pleased to be able to facilitate the removal of a tree from one customer’s front garden by subcontracting this task to a contact with the right skill set.

I had the responsibility of ensuring the safety of every customer and maintaining the pool area's cleanliness. The lifeguarding team held monthly training sessions, which I believe helped me with my ability to work as a team memeber

I was given a flexible job and worked in various areas of the business. I tended to work in customer-facing positions, but if the kitchen was understaffed, I was eager to lend a hand. Additionally, the bar would host customer events like birthday parties, wine tastings, etc., which I would help with planning and managing.

I'm an undergraduate at NTU studying Business Management, Accounting and Finance. I have a keen interest in the financial sector (asset management, private equity, real estate) within which I am aiming to build a successful career. 

I have had extensive experience creating, designing and marketing social events across the Nottingham area. This provided valuable learning, and in particular I enjoyed managing the project from conception to conclusion

I am very performance driven and pride myself on a strong work ethic. I believe this is what has allowed me to excel in a recent internship (based in Barcelona) and is the reason I am on track for a 1st in my degree.
