This is how your old T-shirt saves water & CO₂ 🙂 

Not in theory.
Actually, on the ground.

When you buy a new T-shirt, you don't just buy cloth.
You "buy" all the hidden things that came with it:

- Water to grow cotton / make fabric
- Chemicals and dyes to colour it
- Electricity and fuel to stitch, pack, ship
- Transport from factory → warehouse → store → your home

Now imagine instead of buying a new T-shirt,
someone wears your old T-shirt in good condition.

Here's what quietly changes 👇

1️⃣ One less T-shirt being produced

If a reusable T-shirt from your cupboard goes into someone else's cupboard,
that's one less fresh T-shirt that needs to be made.

Less demand =
- Less fabric being churned
- Less dyeing and washing
- Less energy in factories

You've basically told the system:

"Use what we already have, don't rush to make more."

2️⃣ Thousands of litres of water… not wasted

A single cotton T-shirt can require a significant amount of water throughout farming, processing, and dyeing.
We don't see it, because it doesn't come from our tap.

But when your old T-shirt gets a second life 
instead of being replaced by a new one,
all that future water use for "one more" T-shirt is avoided.

It's like saying:

"I'll squeeze more life out of the fabric already made,
so the planet doesn't have to start from zero again."

3️⃣ Less CO₂ from factories and trucks

Every new piece =
- Machines running
- Lights on
- Trucks moving

When your T-shirt stays in circulation (reuse/resale/redistribution) instead of directly going to a landfill, it helps:

- Reduce the need to manufacture one more "fast fashion" piece
- Reduce the energy burned for that extra unit
- Reduce the CO₂ that would've gone into the air for it

One T-shirt won't "solve climate change".
But millions of T-shirts reused properly?
That's a serious dent.

4️⃣ Less trash in Bhalswa / Ghazipur

The other side of the story is ugly but simple:

Old T-shirt straight into the dustbin or gets donated → mixed with wet waste → ends up in a landfill → slowly breaks down, releases greenhouse gases, can be burnt, adds to air and soil pollution.

Old T-shirt into a reverse logistics system (like Tooused) →
sorted → reused where possible, recycled where possible,
and handled with more responsibility when nothing else is possible.

One path feeds landfills.
The other path feeds the circular economy.
