I don’t hate writing content.

I hated what I believed I had to become to create it.

The Notion doc was open.
12 saved Twitter threads.

3 content templates I promised myself I’d “make my own.”

A voice note I recorded mid-walk that felt like a breakthrough.
A Google Doc titled “for when I finally feel ready.”

It looked like I was working.
Curating. Planning. Doing the thing.

But I wasn’t posting.

Not because I didn’t want to.
But because I was in a loop.

“This time, I won’t follow the format."
"This time, I’ll write what I actually want to say.”

And then I’d scroll.

I’d see a post with 10k followers.
100 comments.

Clean carousels. Crisp one-liners.
And suddenly I’d spiral.

Maybe I do need more structure.
Maybe I should sound more like them.
Maybe my way is too messy, too soft, too small.

And in my head, I’d whisper
“Is that what it takes to matter here?”

Just like that I’d close the doc. Again.

It wasn’t burnout from creating.

From carrying everyone else’s rules into my writing space.

From constantly asking:
“Will this make me sound legit enough to be seen?”

I thought I was tired of content.
But really?

I was just tired of not sounding like me.

So no the threads didn’t get repurposed.
The templates stayed blank.
The voice note still lives in my Drive.

But today I’m posting.

Not for reach.
Not for a CTA.
Not to “get back into the game.”

But because I missed hearing my own voice
without the templates breathing down my neck.
And weirdly?

That feels like enough right now.
