I started writing cuz I wasn’t going to do dance trends on TikTok😀

Now, I write about actionable tips to break you into product management, my journey, lessons I learned along the way, the strategies that helped me and side projects I work on.

You may have guessed it, I'm a Product Manager at Microsoft. 

Most people start their day with a cup of coffee, but my day doesn't start if it didn't begin at the gym. 

My job as a PM is to identify a problem, ask annoying questions to understand it more and ask some more questions that help bring experiment-able ideas I can test for potential solutions.

It took me 2years to break into product management. But I believe there's a quicker path and that's why I share my story.

I designed functional requirements for a new merchant verification process that increased the ease of merchant verification by 5%
2. collaborated with Engineering, Design, Product and Partnership teams to launch our applications in Nigeria, Rwanda and Uganda. This increased our transaction volumes 
3. owned and prioritized the backlog that led to the development of the merchant retention program
4. wrote functional specification documents for the merchant notification system that increased merchant retention by 5%
5. collaborated with Engineering,Design,leadership  teams to launch an internal financial portal which improved ease of use.

Product Manager(Financial services)

- responsible for launching and iterating on the Rejareja M.V.P in Nigeria to find product-market fit. This has increased the volume of financial transactions and purchases in Nigeria.by 6%.
-employed a variety of qualitative  and quantitative methods like usability testing, customer interviews, surveys, etc that discovered a major pain point in merchant verification. The solution increased the number of  verified merchants by 10%
- responsible for innovating on new features that solve customer needs and increase business outcomes
- collaborating with the product team to prioritize the backlog, issue resolution, and feature innovation
- responsible for managing Nigerian stakeholders on product updates and progress.
-collaborated with product, partnership and engineering teams to launch loan financing in Nigeria that increased merchant satisfaction by 15%

Product Discovery Manager(User researcher)

1. led the Mtn Engauge app to the 7th top free app worldwide.
2. a key member of the team that launched the Mtn Engauge app in partnership with the largest telco in Africa, MTN
 3. conducted the user research that increase customer satisfaction by 50%
4. Responsible for conducting market research that discovered the flagship feature on the Mtn Engauge app
5. Responsible for performing usability research with cohorts that led to a 30% increase in signups.
6. Responsible for working with Engineering/sales team to ensure the Mtn Engauge app is successful.
7. led the team 40 persons that achieved 40,000 active users within 5 months

Customer Success Analyst/ Product Manager

1. Served as the client interface.
 2. Responsible for Liasing with   IPnx's collection of more than 30, 000 high rise customers to resolve internet related issues
3. Achieved a customer satisfaction rate of 85%.
4. Achieved a regional  customer retention rate of 80% 
5. A key member of the team that won the Internet service provider as well as the Broadband service provider for year 2020

Network Engineer

1.i worked with a team of 5 engineers to build several iot Products using Arduino microcontroller
2. built  and deployed several solar powered inverter systems
3. worked with PLCs to  automate systems

IoT Engineer

I have 4 years+ of experience working on products starting out briefly as a backend Engineer then pivoting into Product management.

 I  have experience leading integrations with financial service partners, banks, and telcos  like MTN (one of the largest Telcos in Africa) and Stanbic Bank (one of the largest banks in Africa)

I  have experience working on 0-1 Products as well as scaling products across 5 African countries (Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania) 

 I am conversant with the cloud. I started out architecting solutions on GCP and AWS and Microsoft  Azure. I have certifications in  three major cloud platforms Amazon web services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and  Google cloud platforms (GCP)

I am technical.  I pivoted briefly into Software engineering before discovering my passion for close customer interaction. This drove my pivot into User research and finally Product management. 

I am a team player. I  love working cross-functionally with software engineers, designers, QA, legal, and finance as well as leadership teams to build great products.

I am experimental. I utilize a wide variety of low and high-fidelity tools like Balsamiq and Figma to test big ideas before working on them.

I am data-informed. I use quantitative data from surveys and user analytics tools like Mixpanel, Uxcam, Amplitude, and Google Analytics, to understand user pain points in the customer flow. I am also proficient in SQL. 

I am customer focused.  I employ a variety of user research techniques like customer interviews, Card sorting usability testing to ensure my solutions solve user problems.

I am strategic. I employ a range of frameworks to prioritize the backlog and deliver the most important features at the right time.

I  am a designer at heart. I create designs using Figma.  I also utilize design principles like Nielsen heuristics, and usability tests to ensure products are usable and friendly.

I am an engineer in practice.  I utilize both no-code and code tools to build applications.
I currently use Nodejs, React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build scalable responsive web applications.
