Manage Visitor Center (90,000 visitors annually), Visitor Information Services for national and international clientele and general chamber services. Serve as liaison between businesses and governmental agencies. Facilitate policymaking and implement policy established by 13-member volunteer Board of Directors. Drive business to members by matching them to consumer needs. Promote new and existing businesses through comprehensive media management programs. Establish and work with all-volunteer committees in such areas as business development, women managers, legislation, etc.

Responsible for the overall running of the operation, with a focus on the news/editorial side. Managed the ad and production staffs. Responsible for meeting revenue and expense budgets.

I spent most of my career as a newspaper executive in the second-largest media group in the U.S. In 2003, I discovered coaching, got certified and opened my own business -- all after only 5 months of coaching! A few years later, I took the job as CEO for the Key Largo (Fla.) Chamber of Commerce. 

It was a fabulous run for seven years, but in 2012 I made another transition to focus on my own business and my lifelong passion -- helping people get what they want out of life.  

In 2016, I published a book titled, "The DIY Coaching Manual for Women: How to Transform Your Life in 12 Months." My next book will be called, "Please! Learn From My Mistakes!" :-)

At Langara, I work diligently to develop and implement an International Student Marketing Plan that supports the college’s diversification and internationalization strategies, with a focus on emerging markets in The Americas and Western & Northern Europe.

Pattison High School is an independent private institution, that offers Canadian and international students access to a full secondary education curriculum in Downtown Vancouver. Its accredited program incorporates Grades 8 to 12, university preparation, and English as a Second Language.

Some of my key contributions to the institution were:
- Developed marketing initiatives for international and local markets; 
- Improved brand awareness and increased the diversity of nationalities in the school; 
- Established a new level of interaction with representative agents, managing relationships, nurturing inactive and potential clients’ relationships to encourage engagement and build trust; 
- Implemented, coordinated and monitored social media strategies to achieve a visible presence, drive brand awareness, improve engagement and boost search engine optimization results; 
- Travelled to attended fairs, workshops, seminars and trade missions, mainly in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand.

Recruitment and Advising (Regional Director)

Vancouver English Centre

Vancouver English Centre was founded in 1993 and offered a robust English as a Second Language program to students from across the globe through an in-house developed methodology and material. Located in Yaletown, its modern and well-equipped campus was one of the largest in the city, comprising forty-seven classrooms and six computer labs. The school ceased operations in late 2016.

Promoted to Marketing Director for the Portuguese and Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Markets. Responsible for overseeing all representative agents located in Portuguese and Arabic speaking countries, and all marketing campaigns conducted in those markets. 

- Successfully negotiated, coordinated and implemented a partnership in Tripoli, Libya, for the establishment of a local training centre; 
- Managed all marketing campaigns in Arabic speaking countries, with the challenge of increasing sales and ensuring customer satisfaction;
- Built and developed influential business relationships with existing and new representative agents; 
- Planned and participated at fairs, workshops and trade missions, in the MENA region, with consecutive trips to Saudi Arabia, Libya and Iraq.

To accomplish most of my tasks, some of the tools I interacted with were Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Workspace, and multiple Internet Browsers.

Marketing Director - Portuguese & Middle East

Promoted to Marketing Director for the Portuguese Market. Responsible for overseeing all representative agents located in Portuguese speaking countries, and all marketing campaigns carried out in those markets, generating outstanding sales results, while ensuring high customer satisfaction. 

- Developed and maintained influential relationships with representative agents, leading the market to be one of the Top Markets;
- Created and implemented a marketing research campaign, comprised of an 'Arrival Questionnaire' and a 'Final Customer Satisfaction Survey', generating quality measuring and controlling tools;
- Resolved conflict between final customers and the organization through the use of mediation skills;
- Planned and participated at education fairs, workshops, seminars, lectures and trade missions, in order to promote the school, generate leads and initiate sales.

Marketing Director - Portuguese

Operated a virtual office in São Paulo (Brazil) from July 2008 to April 2010, and provided local support to representative agents. From April 2010 onward, the operations in Brazil were conducted remotely from Vancouver, Canada. 

- Maintained and developed existing relationships with local representative agents, providing additional training and sales support. Improved retention rates and increased profitability; 
- Identified new partnership opportunities and increased the number of local representative agents;
- Travelled extensively throughout the country for promotion through fairs, workshops and seminars. Planned itineraries in an efficient way and generated a substantial reduction in travel expenses;
- Prepared, translated and revised electronic and printed marketing material.

Fundação Getulio Vargas‘s School of Business Administration of São Paulo is a prestigious and leading private higher education institution in Brazil with triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA). Since 2004, the School of Business Administration has been recognized as one of the best business schools in the world.

Some of my key contributions to the customized training programs' team were:

- Contributed to the growth and development of the department, increasing the revenue generated by a self-funded MBA program ; 
- Excelled in building and cultivating business-to-business and business-to-consumer relationships through continual communication;
- Created and implemented a marketing research campaign, to identify students' aspirations and to guide marketing opportunities for future programs;
- As a member of the commercial team, assisted in identifying customers’ needs, pricing project cost and benefits and preparing written proposals for short-term, post-graduate, MBA and on-line programs;
- Negotiated contractual terms and conditions, with consistent success in achieving profitable deals; 
- Supported the negotiations, development and logistics of a program designed for international students and executives (Doing Business in Brazil), actively searching for new suppliers and opportunities for cost reduction and better customer satisfaction.

Business Development - Corporate Customized Training

Equifax

Equifax do Brasil (São Paulo) is a subsidiary of Equifax Inc. headquartered in Atlanta (USA). Equifax started its operations in Brazil in 1998 by acquiring SCI Brasil, one of the leaders in commercial credit intelligence and data in Brazil.

Some of my key contributions to the credit and commercial reporting team were: 
- Built strong relationships with existing and new customers and suppliers (worldwide), as well as team members. In 2003, received an award for Excellence in Customer Relationship Management;
- Improved services quality, implementing quality control tools to better evaluate and select suppliers based on customers’ needs, reducing costs and lead time;
- Provided general support to the Board of Directors, maintaining and improving communication between subsidiary (Brazil) and headquarters (USA);
- Compiled and translated commercial and credit reports, documents and commercial letters (Portuguese, English and Spanish).

To accomplish most of my tasks, some of the tools I interacted with were Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Lotus Notes, and Internet Explorer.

Credit and Commercial Reports Analyst (International Department)

An advocate of international education as an instrument for personal and professional development. Avid and experienced traveller (300+ cities in 41 countries) with an entrepreneurial spirit. Passionate about Canada, travel, marketing, social media, multiculturalism, customer relationship and the international education. 

Education is a gateway to change in people's lives and their communities. Needless to say, international education bears the same concept in a more comprehensive way. As a result of globalization, individuals and organizations experience the need to understand different cultural identities and how they can harmoniously and respectfully complement each other. In my opinion, international education not only shapes global leaders and citizens, it also brings civilizations together. 

My ultimate goal is to support organizations: a) to innovate and develop new strategies that allow the interchange of accurate information about opportunities available in the market; b) to develop opportunities that will successfully combine well-established practices and theories with continuously changing tendencies and needs; and c) to narrow the cultural and geographical gaps amongst people and nations. 

My most recent CliftonStrengths assessment from Gallup identified the following as my top strengths: Learner, Responsibility, Harmony, Belief, and Achiever.
