How I blindly copied a competitor & crashed my biz
(… and why it benefits you)

In 2011, I saw a shopping cart platform with a built-in marketplace killing it. 

Let's call this platform Y.

Like a sheep, I built a similar platform called Zaxa.

Didn't even ask myself if I wanted to target the same audience.

Y targeted the "get rich quick" crowd. 
And product vendors fueled this mentality… 

Hyping up their "latest & greatest", promising the moon for a measly $17 or $27. 

Hit & run was their game. Sell, then disappear.
