I was lucky to work at PwC and Shopify early in my career, where I was granted the freedom to hone a diverse skill set, from Experience Design to Revenue Operations. However, amidst a sea of type-As, I found it difficult to discern whether I was an integral part, or a cog in the machine. 

Driven by a desire to answer this question, I provided consulting services in the startup space, where the impacts of my contributions - positive or negative, would be impossible to overlook. 

After helping 10+ startups grow and scale to new heights, I had my answer, and co-founded Thumbstop Media with a simple mission: Generate impactful results.

This might sound super basic. But after 2 years of running a tech startup, it’s the most common flaw I’ve noticed in other founders:

Too many ideas. 

If you’re a small company, you only have the capacity to execute on one or two great ideas at a time.

Having 10 irons in the fire is often the same as having 0.

I picture it like a canoe. You've got a team ready to row, but you've given them 10 different destinations. Everyone's paddling in a different direction, blocking each other's oars, etc.

These are the same founders who return a word salad when you ask them what they do.

I think the “Visionaries” with 100 ideas are a dime a dozen. Unicorns are those willing to kill 99 and obsess over 1.
