2025 recap:

What a year – I’d rate it 8/10.
One of my best years so far.

Completed 9/10 of my 2025 New Year resolutions.

One word to describe 2025: consistent.

Whether performing or not - both career & LinkedIn.

Whether I had 100k impressions or 1k.
Hitting numbers or not.
I. STILL. SHOWED. UP.

Also went pretty crazy at work and on LinkedIn.
And yes, I got burnt out.
Glad I bounced back not long after.

Proud to have built my outbound system.
Hope to take it to the next level this year.

Also gave back to the community.
Though I turned down 25+ coffee chats,
I coached over 20+ reps.

You get no response.

#1 Either your copy sucks.
#2 Or your emails land in spam.

First, kill your ego and admit your copy sucks.

Then forget everything Google taught you.

Write like you’d actually respond.

You know what kills a discovery call?

I’d bet 70% of reps ask this question.

“What are your challenges?”

Here’s how it sounds to buyers.

You don’t know my world.
You didn’t do pre-call work.
You’re guessing I even have problems.

You’re also a stranger.
Why would I expose real issues to you?

Here’s the better approach.

Share what their peers are dealing with and how you help solve the problem.

Say you sell dialers to sales leaders:

“Most sales leaders I speak with say reps aren’t hitting quota.

It usually comes down to pipeline, often driven by low connect rates.

As a result, some are exploring dialer solutions.

Is that the case on your end as well?”

If you’re right, you sound credible.
If you’re wrong, they’ll correct you.

Either way, you win.

Now you can go deeper.

What happens if it doesn’t change?
How big is the gap?

Is this a top-three priority?
Who else is involved?

That’s discovery.
Not interrogation.

Guided.
Buyer-led.
Problem-first.

Got a message from a stranger last night and I almost did something I’d regret.

I get random messages pretty much everyday.

67% spam.
20% coffee chats.
3% actual prospects.

I’d usually reply unless it’s vague/screams scam.

But my gut told me I should respond.

Turned out, It was someone from a target account I had called earlier that week.

On the call, I got shut down immediately.

“Just send me an email, okay?”

I was caught me off guard.
That opener works 75% of the time.

My knee-jerk reaction - “Sure, will do.”

And I sent him another email accordingly shortly.

“Hey [name], I was the one who called earlier.
Is this worth exploring?”

That moment stuck with me.

I’ve had weeks where calls landed well but didn’t book a single meeting.

Also I bombed hard yet meetings somehow still booked.

It’s a great reminder to detach from the outcome.

Sales is pretty counterintuitive sometimes.

You tend to sell more when you sell less. 

Play the long game.
