Wrest Point Casino Hotel is the first Casino opened in Australia.

Within the Hobart landscape, it is a tourist icon and offers up to 4.5 Star Accommodation with a variety of Restaurants, Bars, Gaming and Entertainment facilities.

In this Executive role, I was responsible for the Casino’s marketing function.  The key was to maximise the value and output of the company’s marketing teams and provide specialist advice to directors and senior executives.

I built a very strong Marketing Team that delivered key outcomes including highly profitable Gaming Promotions, Driving Accommodation & Bookings, Improving Customer Satisfaction and Creation of a Customer Service Culture.  I also delivered a successful 10% cost-down in the Marketing Budget while achieving revenue targets.

Banjo's Bakery is a National Bakery Cafe franchise with 35+ stores across Australia.

This was a "Retail Marketing Manager" role which had a Strategic & Operational element to it.  The focus was to ensure that the activities of the business were aligned to deliver maximum value and that marketing objectives were consistent with corporate objectives.

Henkel Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) have approx. 1000 staff, 8 sites with a mix of manufacturing and office facilities and own brands such as Schwarzkopf, Loctite and Sellotape.

I worked in the industrial "Surface Technologies" division.  During my time there I increased the company’s sales within my territory by 10% which included achieving aggressive targets, expanding the company’s revenue base from existing accounts, securing new accounts, optimising prices to maintain margins and managing high profile accounts including Qantas, the RAAF, Boeing, Amcor and Visypak.

It was a great place to work post my Military & Policing experience and a big thank you to a great international company!

I learned about Sales and also started my journey into Marketing as while working full time, I started studying my Post Graduate in Marketing & Management. Makes lots of sense when I look back on it!

I joined the Australian Army when I was 19 years old and honoured to serve as a Sapper / Combat Engineer.

This involved lots of work with construction, explosives and also search. 

I worked in various deployments and was honoured to be offered a secondment to the Australian Federal Police (working in Drug Enforcement).

It was the time of my life and my career ended early due to an injury.

I totally loved it and highly recommend the Australian Army and the Australian Federal Police to anyone who wants to serve their country and have an exciting life.
