After 44+ years of school (Montessori at 3, until the start up project in Antigua Guatemala last year), I took a year off before the next 20+ year phase of my career commenced. I traveled to Venezuela, the Middle East, and spent many months between Italy and the US with family and friends. The capstone of the year was walking the Santiago Trail in northern Spain...an 800+ km walk across the country from the foothills of the Pyrenees in France, to Santiago di Compostella and then on to Finesterre on the far Atlantic coast of Spain. 30 days walking, thinking, meeting and making friends, and preparing for my next job at York Academy.

I am a certified Special Education & RLA teacher leveraging 20+ years of impact as a growth mindset-oriented educator in North America and the Middle East.  After twelve years in Higher Education, I transitioned to serving school-age children and their families.   I work from a strengths-based (vs deficit model) approach rooted in neuropsychology, instrumental to empowering ALL learners.

Drawing comfort, inspiration, and perspective in prose and poetry, I am a bookworm @ heart. To this end, an amalgam of formal education, grit, and experience, enable me to support learners as they forge and sculpt their own life path.  Learning blossoms when you share an authentic connection with students and their families.
