Developing and maintaining a hybrid demo infrastructure powered by over 300 hosts. The demo environment was actively monitored by PRTG, and our sales and presales representatives used it to showcase the product in webinars, demos, meetings, and events. My goal was to ensure it operated smoothly without any hiccups.

I also delivered hands-on training for presales and sales teams on various technologies, empowering them to effectively position monitoring solutions for specific targets to channels and customers.

Nested virtualization saved me hundreds of bucks! 💸

Stop waiting to buy "the right equipment." Please.

(Spoiler: Intel & Asus eventually sponsored my lab, but you don't need that to get started.)

But that's not the message behind this post.

Most people think you need multiple physical machines to: 
→ Test different hypervisors 
→ Run container environments 
→ Build a proper home lab

Wrong.
Nested virtualization changes everything.

Here's the problem most people face:
You have ONE physical server running Hyper-V. 
You want to test Proxmox (everyone's talking about it).

Your options?  
❌ Install Proxmox directly → Wipes out your existing VMs.
❌ Buy new hardware → Costs hundreds of dollars.
❌ Wait until "someday" → Never happens.

Now do this: 
→ Enable nested virtualization on your Hyper-V. 
→ Spin up Proxmox as a VM.
→ Test it

This is perfect if you're:
→ Testing and learning new products 
→ Building a home lab on a budget
→ Creating content about it

Keep in mind:
⚠️ Not for the production environment. 
⚠️ There are some limitations.
