Strategy and Planning Manager, Reality Labs

As Media Lead, I was creating and executing paid, earned, and owned strategies to enhance the reach and impact of marketing campaigns, define the target audience, capitalize on high-potential marketing and investment opportunities, and accurately measure campaign performance.

Some of my additional contributions include:

➥ Established a framework and solid foundation for the Marketing team’s 2022 campaigns.

➥ Drove sustained improvements in key metrics including sentiment (8.5+ pts) and hardware sales (65K+ Quest devices).

➥ Managed all aspects of the voting information marketing campaign from an audience and social development perspective; contributed to a major gain in awareness of Facebook’s efforts to help Americans register voters (15.4+ pts).

➥ Drove Meta’s first Olympics marketing initiative; conducted growth experiments, A/B tests, and sponsorship activation for the Tokyo Olympics, resulting in a 2+ pt gain in primary KPIs, an increase in positive conversation benchmarks by 2x benchmarked rates, and improved reporting precision.

➥ Led all marketing efforts to build excitement for and promote a rebranding from Facebook to Meta across all marketing channels. 

➥ Delivered 65%+ higher mentions, 43M+ viewers with an average viewer engagement of 10 minutes on corporate keynote, a 4 pt lift in excitement for metaverse vision, and a 50% reduction in key media metrics.

As Head of Advertising, I was tasked with leading the Marketing team to manage all aspects of advertising and marketing operations– from media planning through brand messaging, activations, analytics, partner marketing, and social media marketing.

Here are some of the ways I’ve made positive contributions to business growth:

➥ Steered all H1 2019 marketing efforts; launched a campaign to raise brand awareness vs. competitors by 10%+ among the frozen food category.

➥ Increased market penetration against legacy brands such as Ben & Jerry’s.

➥ Established an in-house Marketing team and media strategy to educate target audiences, ensure maximal adoption of creative best practices, build long-term brand equity, and deliver against ROI goals.

➥ Negotiated the company’s first deals with high-profile entertainment brands including ABC, FOX, DreamWorks, and Hulu.

Amazon

I joined Amazon in 2016, where I led a suite of initiatives to drive member acquisition, conversion, and viewership retention for the Amazon Prime Video platform (a subscription-based video on-demand streaming and rental service).

I developed key strategies to drive platform adoption/utilization, optimize marketing messaging, intensify investment and advertising efforts, and position Amazon at the forefront of the streaming industry. 

I also established strict criteria to guide and inform investment decisions.

Some of my additional contributions include:

➥ Created breakthrough campaigns for 3 of the Top 5 streaming series on Prime Video including Homecoming, Man in the High Castle, and The Grand Tour.

➥ Led award marketing efforts, leveraging 5 Golden Globes and 8 Emmy nominations to drive member growth.

➥ Managed a $1B+ marketing budget for Prime Video Original campaigns. 

➥ Grew the marketing budget from $100MM to $1B over tenure; expanded the scope to include US, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

➥ Built an agile agency team, scaling from 10 to 60+ employees to supplement marketing efforts.

➥ Developed a marketplace innovation partnership with an upcoming sports league to achieve +10B impressions in 75+ countries and drive viewership for the largest programs globally.

➥ Established a marketing infrastructure to standardize marketing activities and improve ROI by 400%+ over 2 years.

➥ Developed the first international video marketing plans for overseas markets.

As Supervisor of Digital Investment, I was responsible for leading a team of 2 Digital Managers and 3 Assistant Digital Managers to develop a suite of advertising campaigns across the entire portfolio of carbonated brands (Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Brisk, Pure Leaf).

Some of my key contributions include:

➥ Created the digital strategy for all PepsiCo brands.

➥ Launched DTC campaigns to drive brand awareness and product adoption.

➥ Managed Pepsi’s Super Bowl digital and social campaigns, resulting in a 79% gain in conversions in 1 year.

➥ Successfully pitched and led an on-air Pepsi and Empire integration (2015); created a music video for the partnership, resulting in a 20% lift in brand awareness, a $1MM+ gain in sales, and a creative award (Gold Effie).

➥ Managed a $41MM+ digital budget; achieved ROI goals while reducing digital costs by 40% (2015).

I was selected to join team responsible for developing Nissan’s strategic marketing plan in order to increase awareness, favorability, and market share among multicultural millennials. Our budget was $100 million that required activations through traditional, social media, digital, non traditional, and guerrilla marketing events. 

I helped identified media strategy via Experian Simmons, MRI, surveys, and market purchasing. I was the main point of contact on the team for media development, strategy, and research. In addition, I adapted promotional, digital, and non-traditional communication to increase message reach and strengthen brand position. I developed promotional and digital strategy based on consumer behavior research to increase in-store sales and budgeted creative strategies and created media objectives toward our Nissan campaign.

Also, I volunteered my time helping the 2013 Capitol Advertising team with their media campaign.

At BodyArmor Superdrink, I managed and collaborated with corporate sponsors in order to increase brand awareness among regional target market groups. I helped manage retail and sponsored events with other team members to carry out event executions, pre-event planning, and help communicate the company's brand message. Specially, at retail events, I conducted sale presentations to potential customers explaining product benefits in order to carry them throughout all phases of the sale cycle. Additionally, I research potential partnership opportunities and product influences in order to increase digital and word of mouth exposure.

At MDB Communications, I spearheaded a new business campaign targeting tourism and hospitality industries. During this initiative, my duties included extensive research on potential prospects, writing weekly blog posts via the company website, and managing the company’s social media account. Additionally, I was appointed Account Manager for Free Speech Week campaign. I also assisted on account and media services on high-profile accounts such as DC Lottery, Destination DC, Making Home Affordable, Fannie Mae, and International Spy Museum. 

My duties were preparing service estimates, providing specifications, ensuring online completion of digital projects, and providing recommendations for publicity stunts.

I partnered with GWSB Undergraduate Programs to facilitate weekly lectures and application exercises. I helped assist incoming business school freshman in business professionalism, interview techniques, and business etiquette. I attended and participate in preparatory meetings, FYDP class session and GWSB Peer Mentor community meetings. Overall, I helped 50 students over a span of two years.

At Lerner Health and Wellness Center, I was an Assistant Manager (Log) maintaining customer service throughout the seven floor facility. I received this promotion within my first four months working at the facility. In addition, some of my duties included controlling the Information, Equipment, and Fitness desk, conducting tours of the facility, and maintain a pleasant environment for both the patrons and the staff on duty.

I also participated in brainstorm pitches ultimately generating pitch concepts for two potential clients. Additionally, I conducted a semester long business research project and analysis project on new business leads on RedPeg's pipeline.
