Exactly one week ago, I was at the SET Tech Festival in Berlin — the 10th anniversary of an initiative that German Energy Agency (dena), started because they saw this coming. For a decade, they've been gathering the world's brightest innovators to accelerate the energy transition. 470 applications from 79 countries this year alone. Over 4,500 energy innovations from 100+ countries over the past 10 years.

Imagine if the world had paid more attention to these solutions earlier. We might be far better prepared for what we're facing now.

I had 20 back-to-back meetings in 5 hours. Founders, VCs, accelerators, ecosystem builders — all in one room.

And the pattern was unmistakable.

On one side: incredible European technology ready to solve real-world energy challenges — from clean storage to sustainable mobility to next-gen materials.
On the other: a genuine curiosity about Latin America. A continent with massive potential and an urgent need for exactly these solutions.

The biggest barrier between them isn't technology. It isn't capital.
It's awareness. It's trust. It's knowing who to work with.

That's the work we're doing at BridgeLATAM. And being part of the SET ecosystem — with the commitment to bring more Latin American startups and solutions to this stage in 2027 — feels like exactly the right place to be building it.
