At LATICE.AI we were fine-tuning STT models for voice AI startups
In the last 2 months we signed some major players in the market
Estimated usage at 14M API calls
10K MRR
Not bad for 2 months of sales

Unfortunately we screwed up on 3 points
• we were out of cash despite the sales
• AI training was insanely expensive
• we overestimated the power of open source models compared to the closed ones released every month

And yet in those last 2 months we managed to
• reach +50% accuracy VS Whisper
• build an inference system running in 300MS
• auto upscale and real time GPU proxy management
• a pipeline of 50+ players waiting to buy our models

But sometimes a mix of bad decisions and bad timing leads to the end
To end it on a high note we decided to open source all of Latice’s work on Github
Our inference, backend, proxy, training method... have fun fine-tuning and deploying your own STT 😘
