Since I am not the best at promoting myself, I decided to write a poem instead.

If I'm going to be egocentric, I might as well have it rhyme, right?

Jeff was born in Philly,
But don’t think that makes him silly,
He grew up outside of New York,
And was 32 before he ever tasted pork.

But none of that is info you will care about,
It’s his mind for business that makes people want to shout,
He’s got more insights than most people dream about,
There’s nothing more he loves than helping other people out.

He’s an avid problem solver, that’s what he knows,
His focus is on helping executives grow,
He’s a results-driven leader who helps make you more money,
Like he’s done for Citi, Nestle, Gannett, Omnicom and Sony.

He’s a 3x entrepreneur and successful corporate leader,
He’s part coach, part therapist, and a tiny part teacher.
He’s been called a “leader’s leader”, which is quite nice,
He’s really easy to talk to if you want some advice.

So let’s wrap up this poem, it’s gone on long enough,
The point that I’m making shouldn’t be too tough,
If you want creativity and smarts and the secrets to growth,

Thought leadership visibility is the number one reason decision makers decide to do business.

Women don't belong in business.

They think they do, but they don’t.

Apologies. It had to be said.

It’s painful watching them fight for a seat at the table and claw for middle management.

Here's the thing: They shouldn't be at the table in the first place.

They should run the table. 

I’m serious. We need to hand the keys over. 

Why? Because men are simple, ego-driven maniacs.

•We buy a ping-pong table, get matching Patagonia vests, and call it culture.
•We have 'gut instincts'. (Which is usually just overconfidence + too much caffeine).
•We’d rather drive a company off a cliff rather than ask for directions.

The math backs this up.

According to the Boston Consulting Group, for every $1 of investment raised, female-run startups generated 78 cents in revenue.

Male-run startups? 31 cents.

Women are literally 2x as effective with capital…

..yet men control the funding and the C-Suite.

We need to let them drive. Immediately.

Let them grind, make deals, and push the conversation. I'm fine with it.

All I want to do is stay home, go to brunch, and be the trophy husband I am.

So please, ladies. 

Get to work.

I don't need friends.

And if you say you're my friend, you're probably lying.

Friends are just a network you have to pretend to care about.

I'm 100% self-made. Completely alone. And honestly? It's the best decision I've ever made.

You're all trapped in "community." I'm busy doing things you can't:

•Taking myself to steak dinners. I get a table for one, immediately. No splitting the bill. Just delicious meat and silence.

•Singing 'Happy Birthday' to myself. Both lead and harmony. The performance is electric. I give myself goosebumps.

•Being my own accountability partner. I have never once missed a deadline for letting myself down. Flawless execution. 10/10.

Look, I'm not saying you should cut everyone out. You have to keep a few people in your contacts.

Someone needs to watch you win.

But yeah, go ahead and delete 95%. They're dead weight.

Need advice on being a self-made alpha wolf? 

I probably won't answer. 

I'm too busy printing money with my 3 businesses.

I struggle with networking events.

A hotel ballroom, a peel-and-stick nametag, letting our phones bump…gross.

More than anything, it feels transactional.

“Oh, you write for CEOs? That’s cool. Well, anyway, do you know anyone who needs bookkeeping? We should totally get on a zoom next week. Just a quick chat.” 

I’m trying to escape. You’re trying to escape. It’s a hostage situation with bad apps. (Tiny cold vegetables and hard cheese? Please.) 

There is absolutely NO VIBE.

So, Jacob, Tyson and I decided to fix it. 

We created Vibe Networking.

Here is how it works:

•Speed Networking: We use a structured, timed format. You won't get stuck listening to a 20-minute monologue about someone's ‘journey’. You talk, you move. It’s fast and painless.

•Give Mentality: We flipped the script. Most networking is, "What can I get from you?" Vibe is 100% focused on: "How can I help this person?"

If you come trying to extract value, you won’t like it. If you try to connect people and solve problems, you will LOVE it.

We are looking for givers, (you have something unique to offer) collaborators, (you can make connections for people) and those who are tired of the social hunting experiment. 

Come for new friends. Stay because no one is trying to use you as a therapist.

I try to practice gratitude, but being this insightful is exhausting.

It’s gotten to the point where I can hardly go out in public. The cost of fame is is a real burden.

When I go to a shared workspace to get some writing done, I'm immediately cornered.

"Hey, can I PiCk YoUr BrAiN?"

"What do you think of my new SaaS tool?"

"My wedding is going to be $30 M. Do you think that's ok?"

I love to serve. That being said, I am only one man.

I'm not an insights vending machine. I can't give you ALL my secrets...

Then, there's this guy. (see pic) 

He wouldn't stop talking. I had to pretend to get a phone call just to escape. Read the room, Jeffrey. (jk we tight)

For everyone else, I know you need help, but I'm just trying to get to the bathroom.

Please. Give me some space.

And if you see me in public, just nod respectfully from a distance.

(Unless you have money. Then say hi. Sorry, no Cyber Monday discount. That's for Jeffrey's site.)

"I'm not funny" is the laziest excuse I hear from leaders.

The 50-year-old CEO of a logistics company. "Morg, my man, this isn't for me. I like spreadsheets, EBITDA, and golf."

Good. I don't want you to be a stand-up comic. If you start telling jokes on LinkedIn, it'll be cringey for sure.

I want you to be interesting because your professional voice is BORING.

Here's the secret: Your job isn't to find your funny. Your job is to find your perspective.

Not 'ha-ha.' Funny as in, "huh... that's true."

The fastest way to find it? Run a gripe session with yourself.

A gripe is just a passionate opinion in disguise.

Ask yourself a few questions and you're there: 

•What's the dumbest trend in my industry right now?
•What's a piece of corporate jargon I absolutely hate? 
•What's the worst business advice I'm hearing everyone repeat?

That little flash of anger you feel? That's your great content.

When you think, "These 25-year-old gurus telling me to wake up at 5 AM are idiots. I wake up at 5 AM to let the dog out, not to build an empire before breakfast..."

BOOM. That's a post.

You have gripes. Use them...
