“If I’m the CFO, I know nothing about your product, and I see this business case… tell me why I buy from you?”

He gives me this BS vanilla answer:
“Increase growth through partners, faster decisions, reduce data silos…  and achieve X,Y,Z based on industry benchmarks…” 

I kinda lost it on him, but out of love and wanting to see him win, so I broke it down. 

I said:
“How many partners does this customer have?”
“What’s the average deal size?”

He finally dug in and told me:
1300 partners.
$30K average deal size.

Then I had him call his champion back and ask what they realistically think the conversion lift could be using his solution.
They said 6%.

At a 6% uptick, at $30K each…
That’s $2.34M in revenue,  quantified directly by the customer.

And here’s where most sellers miss the cost-cutting angle:

This customer is running partner workflows across 2–3 point solutions. By consolidating into one platform, they retire $200K–$300K in annual spend instantly. That’s real hard cost savings.

So now the value story to the CFO is simple:

$2.34M in verified revenue upside + $200–$300K in hard cost savings.
All tied to their numbers. their workflows. their confirmation.
This is why my clients win.
 
CFOs don’t buy “nice-to-haves" in 2025.
They buy quantified business outcomes. 

if you're an enterprise seller, and the CFO calls you and you can’t tell them exactly how your solution increases revenue or cuts costs, you’re in big trouble.

My client Michael Buccellato Enterprise AE at Twilio shares why he chose 1:1 coaching instead of a cohort or group program. And honestly… his reasoning is EXACTLY why top sellers win.
