It was extremely challenging to work as an interpreter in different fields like movies, construction, architecture, football, folklore, business etc. 

Why? 

Cause I’m not an expert in these fields. 

My role was just to ’’transfer the message.’’ 

However, in order to be able ’’just to transfer the message’’ and contribute to the success of many projects, I had to:
- work hard and be willing to learn a lot
- improve my public speaking skills (since I was translating interviews, sometimes at a stage, in front of a lot of people)

- be resilient and brave.

When I was a French language student, I had a belief that making mistakes was not allowed to me. 

I was feeling anxious when I had to speak in public cause I was afraid of making mistakes. 

That’s why I started learning about neuroscience and how our bad learning memories affect the learning process. 

I became a certified Neurolanguage coach, with a mission to help people overcome their mental blocks and learn French efficiently.

And I get it… 

You’ve already tried so many boring, grammar-focused courses that did not help you improve your speaking skills and feel confident. 

Why?

Because anyone can google how to conjugate the verb to be in the passé composé. 

But learning conjugations or grammar rules by heart is not helping.

After working with over 1,000 clients from 30+ countries I’ve realised that the biggest problem that stops you from making progress when you learn a language is:

“I'm struggling a bit with grammar and I know I have to learn all the rules by heart… but the problem is that I like to learn by listening.” said one of our students before joining the French UP Academy.




And it really made me think.

This idea that you must memorize all the rules, that this is the only “serious” way to learn, and even worse - that if you learn differently, then something is wrong with you.|

This is one of the most persistent misconceptions in language learning.

And here’s the truth: grammar is not the problem - the way we learned it at school is.

At school, we were taught lists of rules, disconnected from real-life situations, without understanding grammar as the structure - the skeleton - of a language.

 No wonder the first reaction many adults have is:
 - It’s boring
 - It’s difficult
 - I want to avoid it.

Some learners even feel anxiety just thinking about grammar, because it brings back stressful school memories.

But here is what I told her and what I want to tell you too:

It doesn’t have to be like that.

We live in 2025.

We don’t need to keep using outdated learning methods that never gave us results.

At the French UP Academy, we don’t learn grammar by memorizing lists.

We learn it in the way that works with your brain - naturally, implicitly, through real communication.

Here’s an example:
Instead of memorizing every expression that requires the subjonctif, you create a short video about your real-life experience and use just two of them.
Then you practice the subjonctif on our platform, where grammar is learned implicitly through patterns and exposure.
You quickly understand the rules on your own and then you use them naturally during your conversation session.

That’s how grammar becomes alive, useful, and easy.

Let’s think differently.
