👋 I’m Jeremie, looks like you’re curious to know more about me?

My story in a nutshell:

- Hi-tech and science is what drives me since childhood and I believe it can make the world a better place (am I naive ☮️ ✌🏾?)
- I learnt a lot about innovation & new business development through  10 years in strategy consulting, and innovation centres of multinationals 🌎
- But I realised i still knew nothing when I founded my own startup, Cyclopus back in 2018. Building an innovative and successful product is tough ! 🔨🤯
- Since then, I decided to focus on Sales & Business development to help hi-tech startups reach product/market fit and grow their client portfolio

📈 since 2019, as a Senior Account Executive at Linkurious (50p fintech), I played a pivotal role in the company's transformation. From 2021, I was Sales Team Leader to launch the outbound channel and transform direct sales.

End of 2023 I've had hit pause on my career ⏸️ for a few months to deal with a personal event. Today I look for the next opportunity to help tech startups (pre series A/B) grow their business in France / UK / Spain (EMEA).

Until you reach that target AUM.
Until you can finally deploy the strategy you have been telling your investors about.

What have you done today to make sure more people know who you are?

There is no alpha without AUM

And no AUM without commercial capacity.

There is something many emerging fund managers overlook, and it is not your fault. 

You are great at what you do.

You know your strategy, follow your thesis, and understand how to create value for your LPs.
That is why they trust you with their capital. 

But what you may not think enough about is your internal commercial capacity.

You need to go from zero to one hundred million in AUM while keeping operations alive and executing your strategy. 

If you do not reach that number, it gets very difficult.

Internal commercial capacity means being able to:

▪️Run a pipeline
▪️Identify potential LPs 
▪️Know what to say,  and how to follow up
▪️Track every action and assign clear responsibilities

At this stage, as an early stage Fund, 90 percent of your pitch is who you are. 

There is no long track record yet. You are Fund I. You are building trust.

Think about it; internal commercial capacity might matter more than strategy itself.

Where is your next LP coming from?

If the answer is I do not know....

We have a problem.

Because you are in the job of finding investors.
You are an emerging fund manager.
This is Fund One.
Success is AUM.

Execution comes later.
Strategy comes later.
Alpha comes later.

First you need to make sure you are not going in circles.
That you are not trapped in a vicious loop

Where you do not know where your next LP is coming from.

So ask yourself today.

What am I doing?
Do I have a healthy pipeline?
How many follow ups did I run?
How many investors am I talking to?
How many people am I reaching out to?
How many people learned about me today?

This is what I mean when I say sales operations.

And in Fund One,
Sales operations is more important than fund operations.
