With a mission of Kids Helping Kids, The Lemon-Aid Project is a California non-profit with IRS 501(c)(3) approval that creates fun and engaging community activities for all ages while raising funds and awareness for children- and family-related charities within the community.

25 years ago, Tulsa kids showed the city how to give back through a simple childhood tradition: a lemonade stand. Now, Tulsa is going to teach the world how to give back through this same good ol' fashioned tradition in a new fashioned way. We will start in Tulsa in 2019 and hope to expand to other cities and communities in the future.

Was responsible for the updating of the media relations contact database (4D) and the Emory News website. In addition, distributed news releases to media contacts on behalf of Emory University and its communications office.

Special projects included researching all media coverage of Emory University used in the Quarterly Media Reports for the university. This research required the use of such tools as Lexis-Nexis and eWatch to compare the news coverage of Emory and its peer universities (Brown, Johns Hopkins, Duke, etc) in major media outlets during each quarter.

Lemon-Aid Organization

Created a city-wide annual Labor Day fundraiser at age 10 designed to enable youth to help less fortunate youth in the Tulsa community. All supplies were donated or underwritten to allow all money raised (more than $350,000 during a seven-year period) to directly benefit the children and families at Tulsa's Daycenter for the Homeless. 

This resulted in the organization of more than 10,000 local youth volunteers and the supplies needed for the volunteers to successfully complete the project without any cost to the volunteers.

Also compiled and edited a cookbook of lemon-based recipes, From the Juice of a Lemon: The Lemon-Aid Cookbook, which raised more than $10,000 for the Daycenter for the Homeless.

Served as a member of the inaugural staff of the Satellite section of the Tulsa World, a weekly page written by, for and about Tulsa-area high school students.

Wrote news stories regarding the Tulsa Public School's superintendent search, the Columbine shootings and part-time jobs. I also contributed opinion columns on issues such as celebrity role models, teen driving stereotypes and the influence of media and music on real life violence.

My last column for the newspaper was part of "X-axis, Y-axis" where two columnist provide two different opinions on the same subject.
