LinkedIn: Oh that? Yeah. Just vibes.

- Be on time, even though it's not a physical meeting

- Don't spam the meeting chat

- If you have a cat, tell me that you have a cat

- If your cat walks by, tilt your camera down so I can see your cat

- Make sure you use a high quality camera so I can distinctly see your cat's beautiful features

As we go into 2026, I hope more people can master basic video call etiquette 💜

Things people say about women at work (that I've personally heard or have had said to me) that would sound absolutely unhinged if said about men.. 

“He just needs to smile more in meetings.”

“He probably only got invited to that leadership offsite because he’s handsome.”

“I love his passion, but he really should wait his turn to speak.”

“He doesn’t have kids yet? Isn’t he worried about how that’ll look?”

“Is that.. a new shirt? Trying a little hard, don’t you think?”

“I don’t know if he’s ready for a senior role. He seems so young.”

“He should be careful not to come off as too ambitious.”

“He’s too friendly. People might get the wrong idea.”

“Not sure he can handle that travel schedule. You know.. with everything he’s juggling, two kids and all.”

If it sounds ridiculous when you flip it.. 
that’s usually your sign that something's up.

And while equality is the goal, we just aren't there yet.

LinkedIn is the only big social media platform that doesn't pay creators. Full stop.

Propaganda I’m not falling for as a content marketer going into 2026:

- The algorithm rewards consistency

- Nobody reads long-form anymore

- Video is the only format that matters

- A good product markets itself

- SEO is dead

- One viral post = pipeline

- You can do it all in Canva, for free

- Just post more memes

- Thought leadership = posting unoriginal quotes on a gradient background

- MQLs are the only metric that matters

- AI detectors can actually tell the difference

- Your CEO’s hot takes are the content strategy

- Content audits fix everything

- No one needs an editor anymore

- PDF whitepapers = gated gold that'll bring in hot leads 

- Blogs are dead (again)

- Community is just a Slack channel or LinkedIn group

If Hallmark can remake the same Christmas movie every year and get away with it, you can reuse your old LinkedIn posts 💜

LinkedIn: Not a chance. Also, they just edited it again! You almost missed it 🙂

Me: Alright. Last thing. Why do my posts randomly explode one week and vanish the next?

Linkedln: Oh that? We spin a giant wheel every morning. Yours just didn't land on "visible" today. Now gimme 600 bucks for Premium.

You should NEVER mention your family on LinkedIn.

Absolutely not. This is a professional platform.

Definitely don’t talk about your pets either.

Nobody wants to see your cat curled up on your keyboard while you “work remotely.”

No one relates to that. At all.

And for the love of all things corporate, don’t you dare share anything personal.

No hobbies.

No personality.

No humor.

No signs you might be an actual human being with a life outside of KPIs. 

LinkedIn is for business.

Strictly business.

Laser-focused, emotionless business.

They're just so easy to fake.

The only good change LinkedIn has ever made is adding the laugh reaction.

Just because someone flatters you and always agrees with what you say, it doesn't mean you're right. It doesn't even mean you're saying something worthwhile. 

It could mean you're stuck in an echo chamber.

It could mean they see a benefit to acting agreeable towards you.

It could mean they don't see the value in making contrary suggestions to help you improve.

Something worth keeping in mind in business and in life alike 💜

You can try to figure out the "science" behind virality, but here's the truth about it.. 








There are no secrets, and there is no formula.
