An eCommerce consultant sharing my learnings

Everyone wants the corner office. Few want the climb.

One day, the Malabar Gold & Diamonds  chairman took CS ASHIQUE AM, BM (IIM)  his company secretary, in an old Benz.

He stopped at a forest hill.

“Climb,” he said.

Ashique thought it was a joke.
But the chairman climbed anyway.
Two hours later, tired and sweating, he came back down.

Then he said,
“Now write the LOI. We are building here.”

Ashique was stunned that he wants to acquire 100 acre which is now their awar winning HQ and a community called Montana Estates.

That moment says everything about how real leadership is shaped.

Empires are not built on spreadsheets or presentations.

They are built by people who climb first and calculate later.

And succession works the same way.

You do not hand over a legacy by giving someone a title or a chair.

You hand it over by testing whether they have the courage to walk the hard path the founder walked.

If they will not climb the hill,
they are not ready to own the view.

Everyone talks about work life balance.
Very few actually live it.

Jinu Ben is one of them.

He worked at Meta for around 8 years.

Handled launches, celebrities, creator ecosystems.

But here is the part nobody notices.

He did it all from home.

Same house. Same table. Same family.
He saw his wife and son every single day.
No late night hustle stories.
No glorified burnout.

He set one rule.
No work on family time.
Even when Meta was exploding in India.

Most people think career growth requires sacrificing family time.

His story proves the opposite.

He became one of the key people behind instagram reels while protecting the only relationships that truly matter.

In a world that celebrates nonstop work,
his discipline with family time is the real achievement.

Sometimes the strongest career move you make is going home on time.

This is a reminder to myself and my other friends forgetting it in the hustle.

I would not have been an eComerce consultant if it was not this project.

To be something, someome has to take a bet you. 

Because someone has to give you the ground.

Someone has to bet their resources on you.

Someone has to believe in you before anyone else does.

For me, that person was Abdurahiman E P  of Care n Cure Group – Healthcare | Trading | Engineering | Retail  

If he had not trusted me, the ecommerce consultant in me would have never been born.

There would be no The eCom Show  
No community.
No training school.
No expert marketplace.

Nothing that we are proudly building today.

All of this started because one person said go try it. 

People talk a lot about skill and strategy.
But the truth is simple.

You only need one believer in the beginning.
One person who says I believe you can do this.

And if you execute like your entire life depends on that chance everything else will follow.

Most founders burn out for one reason. They try to be Brahma, Vishnu & Shiva all the same time.

Abdurahiman E P was teaching me that every business has three energies.

Brahma
The creator
The one who brings new ideas to life.

Vishnu
The operator
The one who keeps the system moving every day.

Shiva
The transformer
The one who removes whatever is blocking growth.

The real problems start when a Brahma tries to run operations or a Vishnu tries to create
or a Shiva keeps cutting things before they grow

When Care and Cure started expanding he realised he was Brahma, strong in creation and marketing, not in operations.

So he brought in a Vishnu. Someone who could run the system better than him

That one decision helped them scale from a few outlets to the 3rd largest pharmacy chain in Qatar.

Founders are not stuck because they lack talent.

They are stuck because they are in the wrong role for their nature.

Find your energy.
Bring in the other two.
That is real team building.

Your social media looks dead. And you’re still wondering why influencers aren’t helping.

This is exactly what Minhaj Muhammed  explained.

Influencer is level two.

Level one is making your own page feel alive.

Daily stories.
Showing the rush.
The empty hours.
The staff laughing.
The chef plating.
The regular customer walking in.

So when someone is scrolling
and your reel pops up
they instantly recognise.

Oh, this is that place.

Same for ecom brands.

Founders chase big collabs.
But their own feed is a graveyard.
No heartbeat.
No story.
No presence.

Make your brand breathing.

Short packing videos.
Warehouse tours.
Screen recordings of Shopify orders dropping in.
Customer screenshots.
Simple text posts about what you learned this week.

So when creators finally amplify you
they are not shouting into silence.

They are plugging into an already living story.

I used to think content creation was only about helping people learn something they did not know.

Give value, earn trust, repeat.

But last month, I learned something bigger.

We have a client who has been creating content for more than five years.
Pure value.

Just consistent content.

When we finally started running paid ads for them, something crazy happened.

The ROI shot up like never before.

Same content send to people that has probablitlity to convert.

But the results were on a whole different level.

This was a huge revelation for me.

Content does not just build trust.

Content silently pre sells your product every single day.

And when that trust gets connected with paid ads, the system explodes.

Your ads do not have to work alone anymore.

Your content does half the selling even before the ad appears.

Trust converts better than any targeting or tactic.

Content builds the brand
Ads harvest the trust
Sales become the natural outcome.

I honestly thought Qatar was too slow to grow.

I was wrong. 

Last time we did a meetup in Qatar, 4 people showed up.

Yesterday, we crossed 21 for our next event this week.

18 months later, that is 5x growth.

More than the numbers, what this shows is

21 People are hungry to learn how to sell online.

21 People want to understand how digital works.

21 People want to grow.

And our mission is simple.

Reach more Keralites across the world.

Show them the possibilities of online business.

Show them the opportunities that many still do not know.

This is just the beginning.

If 21 people can show up now, imagine what the next one year can look like.

Our community is becoming real.
And that is the most exciting part of all.

A 25 year journey was brought to life yesterday in a way none of us expected.

His team used AI to create a beautiful video about his life.

His village.
His childhood.
His early struggles.

All recreated with visuals that simply do not exist anywhere online.

And the interesting part.

This is the same man who once told me
I do not use AI but I will let my team use it.
I fear it will weaken my creativity.
My brain should not become lazy.

And yesterday proved his point beautifully.

You can choose not to use AI.
And still build a team that uses AI to multiply your impact.

He stays rooted in instinct.
His team brings in new tools.
And together they create something neither could do alone.

Knowing when to stay true to your way.
And when to let the next generation push the story forward.

AI did not replace his creativity.
It amplified his journey.

A 25 year empire.
Retold using a tool he himself never touched.

This is the power of a strong team that knows how to use AI to their advantage.

Small things teach you big lessons if you look closely.

Mohammed Shabin Raza, the new generation handling TEENS LIFESTYLE and one of community members shared this packaging he found during his travel.

A simple pistachio pack, but with one smart idea.

When you eat pistachios, the shells usually end up everywhere or you keep searching for a place to drop them.

In this packaging, the nuts come in a separate inner packet and the outer box becomes a clean place to collect all the shells.

Such a small design choice.
But it solves a real problem instantly.

Sometimes innovation is not about big ideas.
It is about noticing things others ignore and finding a cleaner way to solve everyday problems.

Your competitors are winning not because they are better, but because they are visible.

Last week I was talking to the founder of a large fashion store.

Six stores.

Each between 30 to 40k square feet.

But they have almost zero presence online.

And by online I mean Instagram mainly.

I showed them examples.

Especially Maharani Wedding collections, a brand that cracked the social media code.

And the founder said back.

We do not talk anymore about the old stalwarts like Seemati / Jayalakshmi.

We talk about the ones who are visible.
The ones who show up every day.
The ones who own the feeds of this generation.

Look at this.

Even I am talking about Maharani Sales.
They are not even active on LinkedIn.

Still they showed up on my feed because they did great work on another channel.

If you are not visible, you are invisible.
That is the simplest growth hack.

Be visible.
Keep showing up.
People check their phones more than they look at any public space.

Social media is the new bill board.
