My Learning For Action climate fellowship with Terra.do was transformative and inspiring. It trained me in the facts and urgency of our climate crisis, making me more determined than ever to direct my skills and passions toward resiliency and change.

As a conservation photographer, media artist, and graphic designer, I have created and contributed to many projects that educate, inspire, and advocate for environmental causes. 

I am also a volunteer conservation committee member at the North American Nature Photography Association, where I help develop and promote best practices and educational materials for conservation photography. 

Additionally, I explore the intersections of AI and art, using generative AI prompts and wrestling with the results to enhance my creative process and outcomes, and make sure my students know there's a new world of challenges and possibilities for them on the horizon. 

I enjoy sharing knowledge and skills with my students, colleagues, and other audiences, and collaborating with other professionals and organizations in the fields of visual communication and conservation.

I am a professor of visual communication and media arts. I've been in education for over 18 years. I have an MFA in computer graphics design from Rochester Institute of Technology, and a BA in art (graphic design and drawing). 

My passion is to illuminate science and ecology through creative and engaging visual content, using any available tools and platforms.
