6 years ago, I launched a business out of a spare uni bedroom.

Since then, I’ve

- Sacrificed a lot of time with friends and family.
- Spent thousands on personal development.
- Tested hundreds of ideas that didn’t work.
- Built systems that broke under pressure.
- Lost more deals than I’ve won.
- Worked 80+ hour weeks.

I’ve made mistakes.

Honestly, quite a lot of them.

But I’ve also:

- Grown an agency to a team of 18.
- Built an audience of 60K+ people.
- Serve 7, 8 and 9-figure entrepreneurs.

So I’ve got a few things right over the years too.

Ultimately, your price is decided on:

The years of experience.
The lessons learned.
The commitment.

So never undervalue your journey.

I got here by doing things I’m not qualified for. 

→ I started posting on LinkedIn at 19 
→ I used to do free photo-shoots for businesses
→ I pitched business owners to manage their profiles 
→ I pitched bigger and bigger projects to each new client
→ I spent a whole summer at uni networking with founders

My honest opinion? 

Most people are held back by asking “Who am I to XYZ?”

That voice in the back of their head squashes their potential. 

Start doing things you’re not qualified for. 
You’ll shock yourself by this time next year.

Ps. What's your no.1 goal for this year?

Some of the best advice I was ever given:

1. Obsess over solving the ONE biggest bottleneck in your business and then build a system that runs it without you being involved. That’s the key to infinite scale. 

2. Elite salespeople don’t really sell anything. They’re masters at getting people to sell themselves. 

3. Directly incentivise your team around client retention. As soon as LTV > CAC, you’re set. Aligned incentives is the fastest and most effective way to reach this. 

4. Optimise for low traffic. If you’ve got 200 followers, it doesn’t matter how good your conversion rate is, you’re not gonna get rich of a $7 ebook ($1400 tops). Sell higher ticket early on. 

5. Value at the highest level is not more ‘stuff’. It’s assurance, trust, confidence. Many sellers mistake value for volume.

6. Invisible work doesn’t get rewarded no matter how brilliant it is. Make sure your boss/clients know about the amazing work you’ve done.

7. Do not hire the maybe. Maybe means no.

Modern buyers don’t move in straight lines.

They buy like this:

Sees LinkedIn post:
→ Becomes curious
→ Checks profile
→ Closes app

Week later:
→ Listens to a podcast
→ Hears your name
→ Follows you

Month later:
→ Binge reads 10 posts
→ Sends your content in a WhatsApp group
→ Checks reviews

One random Tuesday:
→ The problem you solve becomes urgent
→ They remember your posts
→ Visit your profile
→ Book a call

You cannot (always) control the order of touchpoints.

You can control how many high quality touchpoints exist.

That means:

→ Show up where they hang out, not where you wish they were
→ Say the same core message in many formats
→ Stack every touchpoint with proof

Your personal brand should be built around getting people to buy in the future if they don’t buy today.

I was a 1 person marketing team for 5 years. 

Here’s how I consistently generated 10-20 leads a week: 

1. I built a Quarterly, Monthly, Weekly cadence: 

Quarterly: Key message
Monthly: 1x Lead Magnet 
Weekly: Driving traffic 

2. Each week I followed X non-negotiable needle movers: 

- 5-7x posts on my Linkedin profile 
- 2-3x posts across key team profiles
- 100 connection requests sent per profile
- 2-3x newsletters sent to our list 
- Improve funnels by 1-2% 
- 1x YouTube (started H2)
- 1x Blog (started H2)

I knew if I just did these and nothing else, we would make progress.

3. We tracked LAPS every week (stole this from Dan)

LAPS = Leads, Appointments, Proposals, Sales. 
This tells you where your bottleneck is. 

As a one man marketing team you can waste time solving the wrong problem. 

4. Created partnerships 

Partnerships with other agencies/networking groups 
These bring warm leads in, but aren’t as predictable
Doubling down on this one next year

5. Paid amplification 

We amplified our best content / lead magnets with ads
So far we’ve stuck to Google and LinkedIn 

6. The value engine 

Our entire marketing system is visualised as a process

I traffic light the entire system every quarter:

Red = non-existent or underperforming 
Yellow = functional but not optimal 
Green = functioning optimally

Each quarter I address the biggest reds.

That’s it. It got us to £1M ARR.

I’ve made the mistake of doing lots of things poorly in the past. 

This year I just did a few things really well. 

But I know it’s time to bring in some more firepower as we scale to £5M.

My predictions for 2026 after building 300+ personal brands:

1️⃣ Executive personal brands become commonplace

→ We know buyers trust leaders more than logos
→ Founder and exec brands out perform company pages
→ The leader with a clear point of view wins more deals, talent and media

2️⃣ Authority beats fame

→ Trust will become the main KPI, not impressions
→ We used to derive authority from fame (eg celebs).
→ Now authority can be built without 1M followers
→ You need the people to see you 7 times, over 11 interactions, in 4 places

3️⃣ Positioning will separate top 1% thought leaders from the rest

→ More people will post more content. We will have no shortage of it.
→ But being positioned as an authority will ensure yours is actually read.
→ Content without positioning = noise

4️⃣ Demand ecosystem

→ Out: lead gen funnels
→ In: demand gen ecosystems
→ Winners will build an ecosystem of content that indoctrinates prospects into their way of thinking, not one and done funnels.
→ Thought leadership sits throughout the whole system, from TOF to BOF

5️⃣ Smart AI leverage, not AI spam

→ AI supports research, drafting, repurposing
→ Humans drive strategy, story and taste
→ You can’t outsource taste or POV to AI

How I would rebuild my personal brand from scratch in 2026 👇

(from someone who built 101 personal brands in 2025 alone.

First move: get laser focused on positioning.

I’d pick a niche where I have a track record. 

Not “I help everyone.” More like:
"I help X become Y without Z"

Can’t explain your value in one line? 
No one else will understand it.

Next up: profile optimisation.

Your profile isn’t a CV. It’s a landing page.

I’d update:

- Tagline: clear promise + proof
- Cover photo: proof + quality
- About section: pitch + proof

People trust numbers. Give them numbers.

Now: content.

I’d use three types:

1️⃣ Growth content → broad reach, wide appeal
2️⃣ Authority content → deep expertise, frameworks, 
3️⃣ Conversion content → clear offers, lead magnets, case studies

(I’ve generated 100M+ views with this exact system)

Ratio? Roughly 40/40/20.

Then: engagement.

Never spam. Don’t comment 3,627,531x per day
Engage with 15-20 targeted people per week.
Use ‘Profile Views’ to start conversations.

After a bit of practice: systematise everything.

Track what works.
Review every month.
Batch your content.

LinkedIn moved fast in 2025.
