Joseph Robert is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Robert Ventures, with over 20 years of asset management experience. Over the past 10 years, Joe was CEO of Silver Bay Capital, a real estate asset management company that invested in over 200 residential and commercial properties, and over 165mm AUM of residential mortgages, creating double-digit predictable returns. 
Joe and his partner resided in Puerto Rico for business tax advantages under Act 22. During this period, he connected with numerous professionals within the blockchain community and industry. These relationships prompted him to start investing in cryptocurrencies in 2017.  Since then, Joe has invested in seed rounds with equity and tokens, along with a portfolio of bitcoin, ethereum and other top cryptocurrencies.

Even though the iconic projects helped me build my professional resume, it did not make any significant impact on my financial net worth.

Throughout the following decade, and using my engineering and management expertise in construction and value-add projects, I consistently  invested in rental real estate and built a strong cash-flow portfolio. During this time I simultaneously built another highly successful multi-unit, seven-figure service business from scratch in Southern California that led to the inception of the private equity firm now called Liberty Capitus.

I’m commonly asked what I would recommend to new investors or busy professionals that would like to move away from Wall Street and begin investing in real estate. 

My answer is always the same, and an emphatic one, “start passively investing in commercial real estate.”
