This is what happens when storage operators try to run a business for short-term profit and long-term value at the same time:

They pull every dollar of cash out today.
But still expect to grow like the largest operators.
And it never quite works.

Here’s an example of what this looks like:

Two restaurants make $100K per month in revenue.

At 12:01 AM, brands pause everything.
 But people are still searching:
 “missed Black Friday deal”
 “extended sale”
Intent stays high.
 Competition drops.
 Costs drop.
The fix:
 Keep campaigns on.
 Lower bids.
 Use scarcity copy:
 “Ends Tonight” / “Last Chance” / “Sale Extended”
This is the cheapest traffic of the entire season.

On the surface, both look profitable.
 Under the hood, they can tell completely different stories.

That shiny 3x ROAS often comes from:
 → Mostly repeat buyers or warm retargeting
 → Heavy discounts eating real margin
 → Low spend that never truly scaled
 → Weak signals that don’t help future campaigns

It looks great in the dashboard.

Now look at the 2.1x ROAS campaign:
