[EDITED: Thanks to the original researcher's guidance I've corrected a mistake I made in my original reading and added a clarification]

Within five days of Clawdbot taking over your AI feed, security researcher Jamieson O'Reilly created a backdoor skill (that's a hack), posted it on Clawdhub and artificially pumped it with 4k fake downloads to one of the top download positions.  

Following that, 15 [not thousands as I'd misread previously] developers from 7 different countries downloaded the skill, which could have sent their aws keys, .env variables, and all manner of other secure stuff to his server with no notification or interaction to the users. [EDIT: Jamieson's exploit let them know what catastrophe could have just befallen them if he were evil].

He shut it down and reported it on x.com, preferring to help people stay safe to amassing ridiculous amounts of data to prove how insecure this toy is.  

If you delegate your learning to an AI influencer whose only reposting what they're reading is popular rather than knowing what they're talking about...the lesson could be painful.
