HSBC

Objective: To deliver an enhanced set of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Development Operations (DevOps) controls to further safeguard deploying software into the production environments
Resources: 18 months, $6m with 7 PM’s and analysts around the Globe
An external auditor had identified several weaknesses in the SDLC and DevOps Risk & Controls processes, which could result in IT failures across the production environments, leading to regulatory sanctions and reputational damage. Having obtained senior stakeholder buy-in, working groups with the IT and operations community were set up to:
•	Analyse the audit report with the CIO’s to agree where process improvements need to be made, and draw up a set of IT and operational requirements
•	Identify the most pressing areas of weakness in the existing processes and prioritise these for remediation
•	Agree a delivery timetable in line with regulators proposed timeline to implement each enhancement
•	Implement the enhanced controls to the IT systems whilst updating all control literature and training this out to over 500 resources, globally
Result: Zero regulatory fines

Interim IT Portfolio Manager

Objective: Set up and manage the governance and delivery central team, who provided delivery oversight, prioritisation and executive, audit and multinational regulatory reporting structures on a global portfolio with an annual budget of $320m
Resources: 18 months, $320m per annum with 12 PM’s based around the Globe
Identify across the Global IT infrastructure any issues where either software, middleware or hardware were either at end of life or no longer receiving security updates.
•	Compile a single book of work portfolio for each CIO to execute against whether that be upgrade where necessary or risk accept and defer remediation activity
•	Secure funding for each CIO and liaise with business Heads to understand priorities
•	Establish a governance and communication structure and setup and report into the Steering Committee
•	Continuous monitoring of all progress against the agreed plans and report any issues or delays, whilst setting up working groups to tackle any common themes
Result: Zero fines from any of the regional regulators

Global IT Portfolio Lead

Lloyds Banking Group

Objective: To review the existing Business Sourcing Process and identify where it could be simplified, reducing the number of steps taken to complete the process whilst maintaining the integrity within the Regulatory guidelines and the banks risk appetite
Resources: 6 months with a team of 8 PM’s and Analysts 
Process: Led the team in analysing the existing technical and operation processes and identifying where steps could be either simplified or demised 
•	Identified all the relevant stakeholders to understand all the pain points in the process and get their buy-in for all changes being proposed
•	Worked with Compliance to ensure the Target Operating Model was within the guidelines set by the Regulator
•	Ensured the Risk team were engaged to guide on any changes to ensure it was within the Banks standards
•	Created the Business Case for the recommended changes for Senior Exec approval
Result: A revised Business Sourcing Process was implemented reducing the number of steps required down from 73 to just 32

Senior Programme Manager

Program: Divestment of Sainsburys Bank from Lloyds Banking Group
Objective: To successfully maintain the existing IT suite and Business processes for Sainsburys Bank customers, within the guidelines set by the Regulator and servicing contract
Resources: A team of 6 PM’s with an annual budget of £5m
Process: Working with the Legal and Compliance teams to get a Horizon view of all Regulatory Changes that would need to be implemented to keep the IT suite being used by Sainsburys Bank within the stipulated guidelines. This also involved ensuring that IT systems were kept within the right level of system support
•	Worked with Sainsburys Bank at C-level to get their buy in on any recommended changes within the contractual or regulation guidelines
•	Built and maintained a governance process for Change Management between the parties
•	Ensured all teams within Lloyds understood their contractual obligations to their Client, Sainsburys Bank, and ensured a seamless delivery of each change, maintaining system availability to the clients’ customers
Result:. Zero contractual or regulatory issues, whilst maintaining the integrity of the service for Sainsburys customers

Portfolio Manager

The Co-operative Bank plc

Objective: To work with both the PRA and FCA with their investigation into the Board of the Bank between a set period of time
Resources: A team of 6 PM’s with an annual budget of £5m
Process: Brought in to head up an NDA’d ring-fenced piece of work, following a joint enforcement from the FCA and PRA into the recent events at the bank and its board of Directors. This Programme of work is subject to Legal Privilege and confidentiality agreements and cannot be described in this document
•	Headed a legally privileged project under confidentiality agreements, following a joint enforcement from the FCA and PRA
•	Led a team of 8 forensic analysts and managed relationships with the Regulator and a third-party law firm
•	Secured a third-party e-discovery tool to execute the set tasks from the regulator via implementing a proof of concept through to contractual negotiations
Result:. Met the expectations of the regulator with a comprehensive submissions presented at each stage of the investigation.

Programme Manager

Program: PPI Compensation Claims (circa £12bn)
Objective: To successfully implement a new PPI complaint handling system specifically for PPI claims, as well as new operational processes to enhance and speed up the claims process
Resources: A team of 12 PM’s with an annual budget of £3m
Process: Led the initial analysis into the current PPI claim process through its operational and IT lifecycle to create an “as is” and “to be” operating model. This then led onto managing the purchase and building of a third-party vendor system that would satisfy the PPI claims lifecycle, ensuring claims could be made in the timescales set by the Regulator.
•	Established the TOM and processes for a PPI Complaint
•	Managed the implementation of a new PPI Complaint handling system to over 7,000 staff, including training
•	Managed monthly C-level Steering Committees to inform on progress and any issues
•	Oversaw the increase in the number of complaints that could be logged each week go from 10k to 70k
•	Managed any incidents post implementation

Result:. Reduced the risk of regulatory fines by implementing system and process improvement

Working within the Retail Fraud space for integration, managing the implementation of a New Fraud Case handling tool along with an upgrade to exisiting Fraud detection systems.
