Record keeping, debits and credits, taxation rules, imports and exports, financial reporting... we've studied it for years and keep abreast of changes in legislation as part of our continued professional development.

Experienced as an ACA-qualified Accounting professional, I bring my enthusiastic and charismatic charm to presenting the relevant information to clients - current and prospective - in an engaging and down-to-earth way.

Personable by nature, I am a lover of musical theatre, crime stories and spending time with my family - I bring a new definition to being a creative accountant. SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS:
As a pragmatic leader at Enfield Council, I spearheaded several successful initiatives that delivered significant positive impacts for the community.

Led Enfield Council's £42m cycle project, earning two external awards and praise from the Mayor of London's cycling commissioner. Spoke at 'Liveable Neighbourhoods conference'.

Established Enfield Council's multi-agency Brexit Contingency Panel, prioritising business continuity, risk management, and coordinated messaging to residents.

Oversaw successful implementation of sustainable drainage schemes (SUDs), including Firs Farm, one of Europe's largest. Spearheaded Broomfield Park wetlands scheme.

Initiated and chaired extensive scrutiny workstream into Health Inequality and the role of the Council's Public Health Team, authoring a comprehensive report with 15 recommendations submitted to internal and external stakeholders.

Elected Member for Southgate Green Ward

Provided financial and strategic oversight of the Council’s £6.5bn 20-year housing and regeneration project – one of the largest in Europe, which considered and reviewed the main risks in delivery and assessed the robustness of the mitigation measures that had been put in place. 

This included:   
• Questioning the critical assumptions
• Assessing the beneficiaries i.e., local residents versus overseas and private investors
• Evaluating the main financial risks in light of the high levels of borrowing, potential interest rate changes, changing population projections, impact of Covid etc. 
• Reviewing the appropriateness or otherwise of the intended housing mix, height and density, ownership versus rental, together with the levels and types of affordability 
• Appraising the proportion of parks, open spaces and recreational land, together with public transport accessibility; and
• Examining the employment strategy, including the number, type and level of jobs created
The resulting report made 14 evidenced-based recommendations.

Founding trustee of Enfield Leisure Centres Ltd, which saw the transfer of Enfield Council’s leisure facilities to a “Not for Profit” Leisure Trust and, established and refined its constitutional framework.

Represented Enfield Council on the London Councils' Transport & Environment Committee and its Executive Sub-Committee and provided strategic oversight on key areas, such as the London Lorry Control Scheme, the Freedom Pass and Taxicard schemes, congestion charging, CCTV camera traffic enforcement, parking and traffic appeals, waste, air quality, and public protection, for all 32 London councils and the City of London.

Successfully negotiated the shift towards a menu pricing mechanism away from a levy system, which was more beneficial both financially and environmentally.

Secured a commitment for a new recycling centre to be built in Edmonton, and for an air cooling, rather than a water-cooling, system on the proposed £1.2bn new waste incinerator, thereby benefiting the local community where it was situated.

Secured a commitment for supplying energy from waste for the Enfield Council’s own heat network, Energetik.

Thames Regional Flood & Coastal Committee

Provided strategic oversight to a team of 12 advisors administering the delivery of a £2.3bn capital investment programme in flood prevention schemes across the Thames region.

Successfully pressed for prioritising areas where the risk of significant flooding was highest rather than simply one per lead local flood authority area.
