•Managed shoot logistics including drafting call sheets and contact sheets, securing location and talent releases, and communicating shoot needs to cast and crew.
•Oversaw on-set digital media management, transferring and backing up footage from multiple cameras and audio sources.

•Took on assistant editor responsibilities, including transcoding footage, pulling selects, and assembling string outs for various projects.

•Provided feedback on various projects as they moved through stages of the creative development process from script development, to casting, to final edit.

Associate Producer

Walt Disney World

•Facilitated in-park training logistics, communicating times, locations, and goals to trainees and adjusting programming in real time, when appropriate, to overcome operational challenges and ensure a productive and efficient trainee experience.
•Led the training process for a technology update in a popular Magic Kingdom greeting location, on-boarding over 40 Cast Members and supporting the production team leading the technology development.
•Served on the opening team for Toy Story Land, working directly with the production department and show director throughout the creation of a new entertainment offering.
•Maintained confidentiality and remained flexible while participating in media events, including
filmings for national and international daytime talk shows.

Entertainment Performer/Trainer

Guided small groups of elementary, middle and high school students on science-focused tours of the Magic Kingdom. Maintained Guest safety during both onstage and backstage experiences. Quickly adjusted to operational challenges such as ride breakdowns and construction closures.

Disney Imagination Campus Facilitator

•Managed a rotating team of 4-7 Cast Members in a resort retail location, using strong interpersonal skills to motivate a diverse team.
•Provided phone coverage, partnering with the Walt Disney World call center and working directly with Guests in order to address callers’ needs while providing Disney-quality service promptly and cordially.
•Compiled and submitted revenue reports, cash audits, and register variance reports to the Finance Department, working with integrity and ensuring accuracy of financial reporting at all times.
•Addressed transaction errors and used appropriate means to reconcile registers, when possible.
•Used sound judgment, addressing Guest complaints and concerns, and providing the necessary Guest service recovery.
•Set up Outlook notifications for product launches, using calendar management to facilitate clear communication between the entire resort coordinator team.
•Communicated facility needs to the data maintenance team, ensuring accurate inventory and ordering.

Merchandise Host/Coordinator/Trainer

•Hosted various high-profile guests, coordinating travel between the resort, the parks and performance venues, facilitating in-park dining experiences, and serving as a liaison between visiting talent and the production department.
•Partnered with the food and beverage, attractions, entertainment, and transportation teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
•When not actively touring, provided in-park, general administrative support to other guides, delivering tickets and other resources, documenting ticket information, and running other errands, as necessary.

VIP Tour Guide

Hosted middle and high school performing arts groups from around the world. Ensured a seamless Festival experience while overcoming operational challenges. Instituted a new awards distribution process using advanced Excel programming to increase efficiency and reduce shipping costs.

Organized over 250 students and community members for each performance of Epcot’s Candlelight Processional. Briefed large groups of performers on event logistics. •Handled general office management tasks, including updating lobby production stills, organizing supplies, and ordering mailing materials.
•Oversaw a development research campaign to identify grants and patrons with top-tier giving capacity.
•Worked closely with the marketing team and executive office to secure an alternate location and craft a subscriber information campaign in anticipation of an upcoming theatre construction project.

What's it like to step in front of the camera for the first time?

Intimidating. Nerve-racking. Exhilarating. Empowering.

Cinematographer Matteo Banfo visited my Organizational Storytelling course last night to give the students an opportunity to experience firsthand what it's like to be in the "hot seat."

Afterwards, he stuck around to share advice on how these future comms leaders can best partner with teams that are creating their company's videos.

This is always one of my favorite lessons of the semester — it's a valuable, memorable experience (and it's pretty fun too).

comms ideas i’m loving lately:

- encouraging your stakeholders to share their thoughts, even when they struggle to speak up
- mobilizing your audience to support your cause with a dramatic ballad
- writing your key messages in the clouds with your broomstick
- casting irreversible spells from the grimmerie
- anything that involves jonathan bailey

Change is *the* essential component for good storytelling.

A Christmas Carol would be pretty unsatisfying if Scrooge saw a bunch of ghosts and said:

"Eh, spooky, but bah humbug!"

Or if at the end of Titanic, Rose hops on the lifeboat, looks at Jack and says:

"Sorry bud, the safety of being a First Class woman sounds pretty good right about now."

Unfortunately, many business stories amount to:

"We started great, and guess what? We're still great!"

Seek out opportunities to show development and growth in business storytelling.

Your audiences will thank you.
