For Oisin biotechnologies, I have developed the lipid nanoparticle formulation allowing for delivery of gene therapy. I single-handedly provided proof of concept in preclinical studies demonstrating the clearance of senescent cells in key tissues.

Developing a versatile platform that can deliver chemotherapy or DNA in vivo is the challenge I have tackled during my post-doc in the Lewis lab.
Fusogenix is a lipid nanoparticle with superior intracellular delivery due to the presence of the recombinant viral protein p14 in the formulation. 
I have developed methods allowing the modification of liposomal formulations with p14, such as Doxil(TM), and I have established that fusogenix enhance the anti-tumor effect of liposomal doxorubicin in vitro and in vivo in a prostate cancer model. With Dr. Susan Richter, we have developed a radio labeling strategy and studied the biodistribution of fusogenix in vivo in a prostate cancer mouse model, using PET imaging.

By troubleshooting critical technical challenges and providing creative solutionss for the development of Fusogenix, I adapted the technology for gene therapy.
By taking the encapsulation efficiency of plasmid DNA in fusogenix lipid nanoparticles from 40% to 95% with cutting edge microfluidics manufacturing process, I have optimized fusogenix for gene therapy and validated it in vitro and in vivo for various applications. 
In collaboration with ENTOS pharmaceuticals, I've had the opportunity to adapt the state-of-the-art microfluidics-based technique for the production of reproducible fusogenix lipid nanoparticles. 
 ENTOS pharmaceuticals is now taking steps to scale up the production of fusogenix lipid nanoparticles to deliver nucleic acid to block and target metastasis.

Work hard, play hard, party harder.
That’s how I used to live. In the lab 7 days a week, I was addicted to my job and hyper focused on success. I used to feel “useless” when not working. Balance was a vague concept for me. I had no stress management skills and the only way I used to let loose was drinking. 
Sounds familiar?
After 5 years as a post-doc I was at the end of my rope. It's not until 2 years later that I found out that I checked the boxes for burnout. 

I had all kinds of unhealthy ways to cope and habits that together contributed to it: drinking, smoking, bad sleep, relying on excess sugar and caffeine for energy, no rest... you name it. 
Little did I know, these bad habits robbed me of my mental performance and made me age faster.
Here I was, in a lab developing an anti-aging pill, all the while living in a way that accelerated the aging process. Oh the irony.

Everything changed on my 35th birthday, when I realized sitting at a bus stop, holding the flowers that my boyfriend - now husband - got me, that I looked ten years older than I was. 
That's when I started making changes and taking ownership for the way I felt. 

By practicing a longevity lifestyle, I pushed the brakes on my aging rate. I even reversed the aging process! I recently found out, using an epigenetic test, that my bioage is 5 years younger than my chronological age. 

Today, I help business owners and investors gain the ability to slow down their day and slow down aging with simple routines, strong boundaries and short practices.
