After supporting Xebia with various marketing needs across the organization and coordinating with the leadership of the Xebia Functional business unit, I went on to manage the Center of Excellence for Creativity and Design. In this role, I focused on driving excellence, fostering innovation, and establishing best practices in creative and design-related areas.

The primary goal of the CoE for Creativity and Design was to elevate the quality of creative outputs, encourage innovation, and ensure consistent brand representation across all touchpoints.

After 12 years of continuous growth with 47 Degrees, where we transformed a four-person company into a team of over 100 and achieved an annual revenue exceeding $15M, we decided to take the next step and join forces with the global IT company Xebia.

We were drawn to their shared values and vision for the future, seeking a partner with a strong cultural fit, a clear plan for creating future impact, and a commitment to unlocking new opportunities for our team’s growth. As part of Xebia, we rebranded as Xebia Functional, a software development brand that leveraged the benefits of functional programming to deliver scalable, safe, and efficient solutions to clients.

I continued co-leading the company with my partners while also taking on additional global responsibilities within Xebia.

Before transitioning to my role as Chief Marketing Officer, I served as Chief Product Officer & Co-Founder at 47 Degrees, where I played a key role in shaping the company’s strategy and driving its growth—particularly in Spain, where we established and expanded our Engineering Hub.

I was deeply involved in building and leading our open-source products, ensuring they aligned with our technical expertise and market needs. Additionally, I spearheaded the creation of conferences and events that fostered knowledge-sharing and strengthened our presence within the functional programming and software development communities.

This period was instrumental in defining our company’s direction, reinforcing our commitment to innovation, and positioning 47 Degrees as a leader in our field.

Before founding 47 Degrees, I started my first company, Enter Web Design, a software studio where I worked as both a backend and frontend developer, primarily using PHP. Over three years, we built various solutions with frameworks like CodeIgniter, WordPress, and Magento, delivering custom web applications and e-commerce platforms for clients.

This period was an incredible learning experience, as I started the studio from scratch—initially working as a freelancer—until it grew into a small team with developers and designers. I took on multiple roles, from project management and client relations to hands-on development, becoming a true Swiss Army knife out of necessity.

In 2010, I decided to close Enter Web Design to pursue 47 Degrees—the project that would define the next chapter of my career.

Before founding my own company, I worked as a full-stack developer at an advertising agency, where I was part of a team that developed and implemented large-scale projects and websites with millions of users, including Cadiz.es and Cadizcf.com.

This was my first experience working on high-complexity projects, where we used Java, CVS, and JavaScript to build robust and scalable solutions. It was an invaluable period that allowed me to deepen my technical skills, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and gain firsthand exposure to the challenges of large-scale web development.

At the beginning of my career, while pursuing my Engineering Degree, I had the opportunity to work as an intern in the IT department of the University of Cádiz. During that year, I contributed to the implementation of a platform that synchronized the university’s news database with a local system, displaying real-time updates on screens across multiple campuses.

This experience was a defining moment in my journey, as it marked my first hands-on work with PHP, .NET, and MySQL. It was an incredible learning opportunity that set the foundation for my future in software development and problem-solving in real-world applications.

I co-founded a consulting company in Seattle, scaling it to over 100 employees, $19M+ ARR, and a presence in four countries (USA, Spain, the UK, and Colombia). We successfully sold the company to a global consulting firm and integrated it into their structure.

After serving as Global VP of Creativity at Xebia and other executives roles, I'm now stepping into a new chapter—taking a sabbatical to focus on my family, myself, and investing on projects that truly excite me.

Accenture the Netherlands

• Responsible for creating Accenture the Netherlands’ (B2B) digital content strategy with the aim to boost awareness and consideration in the buyer process and our overall brand presence. 
• Managing the Accenture Insights (blog) platform, where I publish thought-provoking thought leadership articles, research report downloads, podcasts, webcast subscriptions, event registrations, case studies, and corporate citizenship stories. 
• Setting up the cornerstone article strategy I introduced to improve SEO, grow our traffic and, ultimately, boost engagement.
• Responsible for overseeing external content production and managing the relationship with external agencies. 
• Maximizing the website’s performance by using Adobe Experience Cloud to analyze traffic data and optimizing the internal structure.                   
• (Co-)creating podcast series, webcasts, videos, and landing pages on Accenture.com, to serve (whitespace) clients different content formats. I’m also a (copy)writer and proofreader who can tailor any text to effective copy. 
• Example projects: a client story was shared on LinkedIn after which another client informed about such work at a European business unit leader. Other projects gained lots of exposure as they were picked up by international news outlets, like the Ad Age, Adweek and Business Insider coverage of HackYourFuture’s Behind the Source campaign in which we were involved.

CFF Communications

• Analyzing media for listed and large companies in a broad range of industries. This involved online and offline media coverage of the client, their peers or the industry they work in, both national and international. 
• Creating daily media reports by selecting and summarizing the most-pressing media coverage. Also created extensive media reports on specific topics and quarterly overviews.
• Crisis monitoring and reputational issue coverage, for which I had to monitor the used tools in real-time (Factiva, Coosto, Finchline, Meltwater, Bloomberg, LexisNexis and ANP). A large chunk consisted of IPO coverage and M&A-related media outings, which included some of the biggest M&A deals involving Dutch and international companies.

• Responsible for fully updating the websites of OnlineSeminar and Freelunch, a free webinar module, in both English and Dutch. The goal was to improve the SEO to rank higher in SERP, which was achieved. 
• Content creation, online and off-line. This included client reviews, new product and how-to pages, blog posts, product brochures and user guidelines.
• Responsible for OnlineSeminar and Freelunch’s social media: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Slideshare. Tools I used were Hootsuite, Bitly and Buffer.

STX Services

At environmental commodities trader STX Services, I set up the role of Communications Specialist. This role mainly involved writing, proofreading, and creating external communications and sales-related content. For example, I was editor-in-chief for the weekly external newsletter, drafted and edited management updates, and created presentations, product leaflets, and event descriptions. The roll-out of the new house style was also one of my projects.

Everyone has a story to tell. All you need is someone to write it for you. A story about a personal victory or hardship, a groundbreaking technological solution, a new way of working. That’s why I’m passionate about creating content: to help people or organizations share the stories that they’re most proud of.  

No matter the topic, there’s always an interesting angle to find, an inspiring motivation or a unique goal. That’s what I’m always looking for. How? As my background lies in (copy)writing, I like to create compelling articles, to dive deeper into the why, the how, the what. With a light tone of voice and a pinch of humor. Why? Content should be consumed easily, without second-guessing whether you fully understood what you’ve read, heard, or viewed. 

However, content is much more than writing alone. That’s why I believe you should craft different types of content to serve your target audience with the right content mix. A podcast mixed up with a brief article, an infographic or an explanatory video, or maybe a landing page to bring all your targeted content together. 

My experience lies in the B2B domain, with a focus on thought leadership to bring in more business, but also on lifting companies’ brand awareness with stories on corporate citizenship and personal development. Although I have experience in many different industries, because of my work for a consultancy and a PR agency, I’m most passionate about all-encompassing themes like human rights and sustainability.
