Reporting to the USA General Manager, I began this new job as the main responsible for designing and executing a new revenue growth strategy for the USA, including but not limited to segmentation, positioning and GoToMarket.

Success covered the development of the different growth channels, tactics and teams, including to build and lead new marketing and sales teams, a strong relationship with Microsoft USA subsidiary as our primary business partner, and the development of new products and services, aligning the market opportunities with our corporate innovation initiatives to unveil new growth sources.

The biggest win was deciding where to invest our limited resources to find a new client to diversify client risks. We successfully closed the first non-Microsoft client in the USA, starting a new channel and the path to risk diversification.

USA Revenue Growth Strategy Lead

Reporting to the CEO and company founder, I started this position as the company performance owner. My goal was to improve the economic value of ENCAMINA and to lead the change to a more data-driven decision-making company. Functions include the inspiration of the Executive Committee to build high-performance initiatives aligned with the company's strategy and impacting the P&L’s bottom line.

Results: x3 in EBITDA when compared to the previous year. Still the best EBITDA in the history of the company.

Accountable for developing and executing the Business Growth Strategy and leading the sales & partner teams. 

As a permanent member of the executive committee, I worked closely with other chief executives, mostly with the CEO, COO, and CFO. Besides, I was the link between ENCAMINA and Microsoft, coordinating and leading actions regarding goals and strategic alignment.

I led the Go to Market and revenue-generating activities with the critical challenge to help ENCAMINA in their path to differentiate their competitive positioning and grow fast by co-building a new mid-term strategic plan with the owners of the company, and leading the sales and partner channels teams to achieve the goals planned.

Quantitative success includes an x2 revenue growth while reducing the budget & team, increasing revenue operations performance. 

Qualitative success included building, empowering, coaching, and leading a new direct sales & partnerships team, implementing new compensations and key account management systems, sales team operations, and processes, developing the channel strategy and strategic alliances, and co-build the ENCAMINA strategic plan with the CEO to improve our alignment with the market opportunities and with our partner Microsoft.

Reporting to the COO, with a double role: sales consultant (40% of the time) & project manager (60% of the time). Responsible for maintaining equilibrium between the customer, the project team, and the profit of the assigned projects. In charge of pre-sale consultancy, proposals development and sales pitch presentations.

They call it a "Success Story". I prefer to call it "The Art of Being Uncomfortable".

If you look at my LinkedIn profile, you see a logical path: from the South of Italy → to university in Rome and London → to an international MBA in Rotterdam → to working in Madrid. A clean progression from local roles → to EMEA → to global Product Marketing.

It looks like a master plan.

The reality? 

It was more than a decade of being the "outsider". 

And that is exactly what made me the Product Marketer I am today.

In B2B SaaS, there is a dangerous illusion called "Global Strategy". 

We like to think we can build positioning at HQ and simply “copy-paste” it to the rest of the world.

We fall in to the assumption that localization equals translating slide decks.

Well, it doesn’t work like that.

Living abroad, changing countries, and working with 30+ nationalities taught me something uncomfortable but essential.

What sounds visionary in one market can sound arrogant in another. A product that sells on speed in the US might need to sell on safety in Germany or on reliability and local support in Italy.

What feels like “strategic alignment” at HQ can feel like “disconnect” in the field.

You don't learn these nuances from a Gartner report. 

You learn it when you show up in a new country and have to rebuild your credibility from zero.

If you haven't read "The Culture Map" by Erin Meyer yet, put it on your list. It was the book that finally gave me the vocabulary to decode these invisible friction points.

👉 My take: cultural awareness go well beyond knowing how to interact in different languages. It is the antidote to HQ bias.

For Product Marketers, it’s the confidence to look at a global campaign and say: "This message will fail in that region. We need to change it".

If you want to lead truly global strategies, you have to fall in love with the discomfort. The moment you feel perfectly "at home," you stop understanding your international customers.

Comfort zones kill strategy.

This is a photo I took some time ago in my neighbourhood in Madrid. It’s where I feel most "at home" these days, but it's also a daily reminder of all the uncomfortable leaps I've taken to get where I am today.

✈️ Sometimes distance is the strategy. Stepping away for a brain reset.

This weekend I’m flying to Rome to visit a close friend, and lately I’ve realised how much these small “pauses” matter.

Every time I step back, change city, pace, or conversations…

I come back with clearer ideas, better questions, and stronger priorities.

There’s something about leaving your usual environment that resets your thinking in a way that no meeting or framework ever will.

Sometimes the best way to think about work… is to stop thinking about work for a moment.
